I suppose if I were advising myself, I would say, "Be careful to make the most of what you have got, rather than wasting energy wondering about what you haven't got."

I think if I wanted change enough, I would change.

 Maybe! Sometimes we are not in a position to change even when we want it badly. As you said in the previous post about being younger and having more opportunity to do things differently, maybe now that there are less tomorrows, you have decided to stay put. I don't know...maybe it still is a choice, but that doesn't make it a bad one.

Yes, that happens. Money can help you do things you want to do when you are happy already, and a severe lack of it can make you unhappy in some ways, but the mere presence of Money can not make you happy if you don't feel it inside. Sometimes cherishing what you have which Money can't buy is a quick route to happiness.

I was about to write the next sentence when I realised I think I have written it here before - I have a certain woodworking tool (more than one actually) which was given to me by someone special. It isn't the perfect thing for using the way I need to use it, but when I do use it, I love it more than anything else I could use instead, because of who gave it to me. That makes me happy, and I need to apply that principle to the rest of my life I think.

Thanks Tigger, I'm trying to follow it. You have to balance it with not giving up on your dreams though I think, and that can be when it gets difficult.
