Do You Do It Too?

Had a leisurely breakfast and coffee watching Sunday morning news shows (not like i haven’t had enough news frustration this week), showered, now made my way to A F F. Do I have a multitude of other things I should be doing? Oh yes! So why do I procrastinate? I can wake in the morning and mentally plan out what I need to do and picture myself doing it. Do I? Well...eventually, if it is something that involves others. Though often feel rushed and somewhat stressed as I do it. If not, I may get to it eventually if it only effects me.

Procrastination does not seem to just apply to chores. It’s lifestyle changes too, exercise, improved diet, etc. It’s following up on emails here to actually meet people I might be interested in. Damn, it is even masturbation...get the urge...maybe do it later.

This only effects my personal life. At work, I am on top of things.

So what about you? Do you do it too? Chastise yourself? Vow to change? How do you self-motivate?

I procrastinate a lot because I like to find things that really interest me to read, listen to or do. The other is mundane and I look for excuses not to do it. New Year I will look for reasons to get it done, will see if it works.

I'm usually pretty good at getting things done. The main caveat to that would be during the summer. I have been known to have a bunch of stuff to do around the house, but blow it off for a trip to the beach.

I need to celebrate the things I do accomplish more often instead of jumping into what's next on the list.

I often attribute my my procrastination to over thinking the task at hand.

Using more than all the road!

I used to get stressed out by my procrastination... which only made it worse! Now I accept it (not at work obvs) and make lists lol. Sometimes things that I've put off tend to "fall off" the mental list!

Hi Tres, long time . . . Like you procrastination only effects my personal life. At work, I am on top of things.

I have a number of (a.k.a. too many) personal (home, auto, etc.) projects. Sometimes I procrastinate on things because of how much time they may take, but sometimes it is the cost of the project at hand.

When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.

The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

I was thinking of washing the dishes and just cleaning up the house a bit but I thought I'd pop into this island, and check things out first... 🤔🎅

I have a habit of procrastinating at home because I give so much energy and effort at work. I need to learn to manage it so I have energy left to use at home.

A copy of my daily life. Procrastinating at house work the most; followed closely by healthy eating and exercising.
I am sure a lot of people will be a bad/good at it as we are.

So nice to be insane; no one asks you to explain.

Sounds so familiar . I have to force myself to get going , but once I start I'm obsessed with finishing . At work it's different , I'm driven to get things done , to the point that some co-workers would rather not work with me . They want to work at a more relaxed pace , or not all . I have this thing in me that says : I have time , or I'll get to it . It wasn't always like that , It seems to have developed with age though I'm trying to change that . Reading your post was like looking in the mirror .

Guess I should not procrastinate posting a comment if I want anyone to read this.
