Had a wonderful experience with a friend of mine some years ago that I would like to repeat. At the time she was a stay at home mom. For three years she didn't really get out of the house much, didn't even get out of that small town much. I had a week long regional trip for work. It occurred to me that she might appreciate getting out of town for a bit. As luck would have it her husbands work schedule and her sisters work schedule lined up well enough that she could get out of town with me for the week. I couldn't really afford to take her anywhere fancy. But the company was paying for my hotel rooms and meals and provided the vehicle and fuel to get us to each place for the work trip. While I worked during the day she would be on her own to enjoy the peace of the hotel or walk around and explore each small town. In my mind it wasn't all that exciting for her but it at least got her out of the house. But in her mind it was something amazing. She still talks about it. Apparently the peace and quiet of the hotel was more valuable than I realized. And she did enjoy exploring the towns. We got to enjoy sex like newlyweds which, her husband told me, reignited the fire at home. I would love to have a traveling companion like this again. I travel more than ever now but haven't been able to sync my schedule with this friend or any other.
