First Meetings/Dates

On any type of dating/meeting site first dates are a concern. I once had a woman I was chatting with online invite me to her house late at night. By late I mean after sunset, not after midnight. That is not something I would normally do. Or suggest a woman do. How should a first date be setup?

I feel a first meeting should be some place public, quiet and short. A public place is for safety. Both mine and the person I am meeting. Now I know my hearing is not great. I also know a crowded restaurant gets noisy and hard for me to hear a conversation. I don't want to keep asking someone I just met to repeat herself. Nor do I want to ignore the fact I couldn't hear or understand what she just said. I like short first meetings with an option to make it longer. That can be turning a drink into dinner or going someplace else.

 Been to three ladies homes, motels and resturants All were OK, no problems with any. Solve the problems before you go!!! Take your time
