college admissions fraud Of course the criminal fraud to get kids into elite colleges was a travesty. But stupid. There are lots of legal ways to game the system. In fact most good students can get into a fairly selective school, if not Harvard or Princeton. The easiest way is to have decent grades and SAT scores, and play the bassoon! And be willing to pay full tuition. Every orchestra needs a bassoon player. A bassoon is large and expensive and most do not play this instrument. If you do, you are in like Flynn. Another key is to be in the top ten nationwide in any sport. Any. Much harder to do in football, basketball or tennis. So choose a rare sport like sabre fencing or squash. Then talk to the coach of this sport at the elite school and promise to attend the school and play the sport for four years if admitted. The coach will tell the admission dean your kid is the number one recruit for him this year... Fat envelop time is coming. Again, do not ask for financial aid... Another way to achieve is write a book!! You can self publish it easily these days. What does a 17 year old have to say to the world? You would be surprised. An autobiography is the easiest. Think Fast times at Ridgmont High or Animal House. So many funny and stupid things happen in high school. Your own mistakes and those of friends are enough to make a raucous book. You might even create the rebirth of "Catcher in the Rye" the classic young adult book. Why is this so golden? So rare... Another game day winner: A touching go fund me charity organized to help a deserving refugee, homeless child. Do well by doing good. Learning about a disadvantaged needy person and helping them succeed. Life is not fair, but you can game the system legally... And when you get older work to make the system more equitable.... |
