The best place to own stocks is in a retirement account so no taxes until distribution. With a Roth IRA no tax deduction for investing, but no tax on distribution of gains. Time is your friend. Starting with $1,500 in 1981 you can have more than one million dollars in 2020. Overnight in just forty years... The easy way is buy a S & P 500 stock index fund. That out performs 90%+ of the managed funds anyway. |
