There is a move to stop prosecuting petty theft up to items of $1,000 or less.

I disagree as it punishes small business retailers who need the laws to be enforced to discourage shoplifting.

Not stealing is a good thing.

 Crimes like that are usually committed by people on the lower end of the socio-economic ladder. Which the news industry is eager to tell us is made up mostly nonwhites who also make up the a disproportionate majority of prison inmates. Justice by quota system, not guilt, is what we have to look forward to next.
Please don't let me be misunderstood.

 I’ve read a few articles on this and pisses me off. People go into a store and steal $999 worth of stuff and stroll out. Knowing the crime won’t be pursued. Sickening. Stores have closed locations due to this. Store employees are jut allowed to engage thieves.
And there aren’t enough police around to deal with it. Who’s bright idea was this and thinks this is making a better, more unified society? Idiots.
I’m pissed now. Thanks. 😡

 A person could be caught by an employee Red Handed , but Store won't call Police or Prosecute because, " it looks bad Customer Service wise" !!! Overheard that one right out of Store Managers mouth 🤬🤠

 All crimes should be punished.....I guess not just the little ones. When there are crooks masquerading as politicians scamming billions out of the taxpaying populations and allowing massive corporations to dodge fair tax, I'm not sure demonising people who steal because they might not have anything to eat, or are looking for some narcotic to give them an escape from their daily grind is the best approach.
