In general, I give at least a second chance and sometimes more. So much depends on the circumstances. What's key is how I'm treated in between. Opportunity may knock only once, but temptation bangs on the door forever!

I think a good follow up question would be... How long do you correspond with someone before you decide to meet them for the first time?

Well... If I'm not desperate to get laid, then I don't count chances - I look at what they have to offer. But I'd say 3 4 times? And then there was this one fricken lady... Twenty years... I was sort of chasing her... Yep 😶 40 minutes away is my commute... on a good day... Too bad it didn't work out. I lead a crazy hectic life, with family and a business. So I'm pretty understanding of time constraints. But, I'd have my limits, like you said. I think your's was a understanding and legitimate waiting period. Especially if you were that close to each other. I have a crazy life so I need a few chances and so I give a few...lol. Having said that there is a limit, eventually you have to realize both your schedules just aren't conducive to anything happening.

I'm a true believer that we can always make time but why we choose not to can only be defined at the time it happened.It also depends on who is doing the initiating and is a good indicator of who lost interest. Using more than all the road!

Love the point of how treated in between. My last one didn’t treat me well in between, no communication. So, on his reappearence, I was over it. I won’t be an afterthought or a rebound. Alone is better than no regard.

I give a few chances because I know life is busy because that's how I am. I don't believe in closing doors altogether....you never know if there is a diamond in the rough that you didn't give the opportunity to find

If it seems like there is a connection, I'll likely give more chances. I do understand when real life gets in the way, but, if a relationship is going to work, at some point you have to prioritize time together. It really depends on the person/dynamic, and the situation. Could be one, and done or a few chances. Lately though, I'm not going to go chasing after it. Been there, and done that and ended up feeling real small. Thoughts from the Garden...

I guess I am a bit forgiving/understanding, at my age all things move a bit slower so I am used to it. just have to weigh the circumstances at these given moments, sometimes just not a yes/no decision, a bit of understanding , but don't be fooled into a fantasy situation that can't work...... But life is good, the weather is good, looking forward to thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. I hope all have a good holiday season.. I tend to see the best in most and will give them a second or third chance.
