Safe travels.... Our storm has hit here this morning and letup is slated for Saturday! With the cold, I made borscht today! I was surprised when the Mrs said it tastes like borscht!

Congratulations on finishing up and heading home before the storm. We are forecast for the same storm but they are still trying to figure out where exactly the most snow will land (and how much ice for the others I would prefer the snow ? Didn't I just shovel out from last weeks snow storm??

Be safe and do the groceries FIRST. The storm is coming here two and we have been warned there are TWO of them back to back. My freezer is full and the eggman is dropping by. I have scrambled eggs with marble rye toast on my list tonight. I cant use my right foot so prepping the crockpot is out. Have some stews in the freezer and two new books. Happy for you!!!! Your second meme echoes what I read in the paper today about "The Miracle on the Hudson." That event made 155 people rethink what is important about living. Good to hear you are done with training ,,well at least until something new is needed to be known. Hope you don't catch the brunt of this storm in your area. From the projections I think the worst is going north of the area you live at. Not sure though... Here the first bit of news was 3 to 6 inches then down to 2 to 4 inches now even just 2 inches. Ha ha dogs are strange..just like people. Comfort food??? I just like food,,,don't know about comfort food, Foods I miss, homemade grape leaves, homemade perogies, beef tongue and homemade yorkshire pudding like my grandmothers made. Or fresh bakery french bread a fresh picked tomato with hellmans mayonnaise and fresh cut deli swiss cheese sandwich. What a bunch of flavors!

Hurrah for chicken and dumplings. A long nap pre-cursor for me. We have taken a shortcut by using canned chicken. Seems we both are so excited to sit a at the table for a taste, we do not mind the change. And --it was decreed at our house - I am not to be in the kitchen during the preparation. I tend to stir the pot too much. Makes for darn horrible dumplings. I am married to a wonderful gal that is part Native American, having a bitch of a temper. And as always, a ball bat next to the front door.
