I'm always amused that this North American event is called the World Series! I have only ever been to one baseball match ... over 40 years ago in northern Europe ... 't was fun ...

I appreciate your giving a shout out to the Nationals. I love Baseball. My team is the Red Sox. The Nationals team this year was reminiscent of the 2004 Red Sox as they were the Wild Card team. Can you imagine they were 19 and 31 in May? There was talk of their manager being fired. He had heart trouble during the season. They had to learn to deal with the departure of their big star Bryce Harper who signed with the Phillies. Well who is on the outside looking in eh? The team came together as they supported one another and made it about having fun. They had some spark plugs...Juan Soto their 20 year old rookie. Their phenomenal starters of Scherzer the human husky as my friend joked about him as he has two different colored eyes(blue and brown) and Strasburg. Their other starters Anibal Sanchez was amazing in the NLCS, not so much in the WS. It was a Cinderella Baseball story if there ever was one. And to top it off...they had the back drop of fans booing the President and chanting Lock him up and holding up signs Veterans for Impeachment. I wonder how that idiot umpire who tweeted out his support for Trump felt about that. LOL The fans in DC... a lot are civil servants and Veterans who have been denigrated by the person occupying the white house, a lot of them are tired of the games he plays and they are supposed to support him. Remember what he said about John McCain...a Prisoner of War...he likes soldiers who are not captured. Trump never served in the military, having deferments for bone spurs. Remember what he said about soldiers with PTSD that they are weak. Who the hell is he to say that when he has never seen battle? Even if some can overlook this stuff can they overlook what the Generals have said of his leaving the Kurds defenseless against the Turks after they have been our allies against ISIS? For what? Some unknown monetary motive with Erdogan and Putin that we may not know...Sorry to make this political but The Nationals have a lot to be proud of...they are a team that has great spirit and spirited fans. I am glad they have lifted a city that has seen such upheaval and will see a lot more in the coming months. Independently Romantic Sounds Better Than Lonely

I have lived in the D.C area all my life . Started going to baseball games with my dad when we had a losing team ,the Senators . They moved to Texas became the Rangers. and started to win . Had to what 31 years for a team to get back to D.C.. the Nationals ,From 2005 to 2011 They were also a losing team . For a cupule of years they mad it to postseason play and lost . This year they got to a slow start .They had a lot of adversity but got through it all with working together ,one game at a time . This was one of the best days of my life got to see my hometown team win a World Series ,cried for my happiness, cried cause my father never saw his home teem make to the World Series, and cried cause I got to enjoy a World Series with my daughter and granddaughter .

Truthfully I a cant stand baseball- it's a game of nuances. Sometime in person I will show you my impression- you will laugh. I am glad for the Nationals tho'. And I am a love everything Colorado (Virtual Symposium Group) use Virtual Symposium Group

Goes to show how much of a sports fan I really am, I didn't know the World Series was even being played. And I usually hear about every sports event at work. There are a few in my office who talk nothing but sports... guess my ear buds are working great...lol. I really am not much of a sports fan. I don't follow Hockey, Football, Baseball, or Basket ball. I might know a few team names and maybe the odd player here and there, but that is about it.
