_*+ How about the Duke?

I did this post awhile ago. Recently I was listening to my Godsons talking to friends about movies and was surprised when the other kids knew nothing about John Wayne! ,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I grew up in what I think was a much simpler time. There were good guys and bad guys in the movies. For a little boy, it seemed easier to know what was right and what was wrong. Of course, in my case, at that age I did not know that life was really not that simple. I have been spending time over the last few years watching TV programs with my Godsons and I am realizing, that there is no clear cut hero in their programs. Most of the shows seem to always have a dark side. I have searched around and have not found a clear cut hero. I am introducing more and more John Wayne into their viewing time. I work in discussions on how some of the ideas in the movies can not really happen, but they should always try to do what is right and to help others. Am I being too naïve in this time trying to do this? Do you have a TV or movie idol? Yes I can be a curmudgeon,,,,,,,, all little boys should be introduced to John Wayne.!!

Jerk offs ate all ten pictures. I will try again

The A** Holes at all ten pictures for the third time, all done with the pictures for today

I love the Duke. Simple, straight forward and a man. Good example for the kids

todays culture doesn't create "heroes" like we knew. John Wayne was always an idol,a man we wanted to be. Clint Eastwood is another. Harrison Ford is the last of that type

He was my hero John Wayne. I remember the Dukes too.. I know this generation growing up knows nothing about the old actors at all. I guess it is because the films are not showing on TV anymore. You have to find them and show them. hugssssssssssss V

In our time, he was a staple of the movies. Was an icon to us all, I think [image]

I guess times are changing, a gritty character like him just does not fit the digital world [image]

This was a great question today, as a little girl my dad used to make us watch westerns and I hated them except for a small few. And the Lone Ranger was one of my favorites and Clayton Moore was definitely my hero at the time him and Jay Silverheels who played his trusty side kick Tonto..

Seduce the mind and see what a wonderful adventure the body will take you on..

I agree with everything you say, all the way down to the red fonts
When he gets older, two of my favorite heroes were Charles Bronson, and Steven Seagall!!!!!
