📚 🥂❤️ A custom treat

Well maybe not custom, but at least unique . I would love to share a military style breakfast with you. They may not be overly attractive, but they are filling. Those of you that are Moms or Dads of military members can see what makes them so starving for your cooking whenever they come home to visit . Place settings are unique and frequently are rustic . The Meals Ready to Eat (MRE) are the ultimate treat . If you are former military, does this bring back some memories? And those that have not had the opportunity in the past, would you be willing to try these meals?

I actually have 30 days worth of MRE- havent tried it out but one never knows. One time when I went to visit NLabs( Miltary) in Framingham MA I was witness to an incredible waste of our tax dollars. The Men stationed there were in the process of testing things for shipment oveseas during VietNam. On this fine day it was RadarRanges( portable kitchens. They had to fill a tray with breakfast, eat and go back and fill another tray and repeat. They had to do this for 2 hours and when they could not eat any more, they still had to fill a tray
and then DUMP it in the trash barrel. They could have done tis on Boston Common and fed the hungry

Well, ok. If it is good enough for the troops, I am willing to try it

Good morning Pal, you know my hubby is always talking about those MRE he really wants to try the new ones. He just asked me to ask you if you remember those P38 can openers? Him and my grandson would talk a lot about the military stuff, like guns, food and other things. I hope you have a great Hump Day..

Seduce the mind and see what a wonderful adventure the body will take you on..

I was watching an episode of Eating History Vietnam War...it was still edible!

Opportunity may knock only once, but temptation bangs on the door forever!

there are enough calories in 1 MRE to last for over a day. having to eat 2 of them a day with a 3rd meal being hot, glad i was busy with stuff back then.

Sure does bring back some fond memories. Some were too bad to eat. Guess I was hungry. Hugs V
