Actually I did not have to , but I did it. One of my neighbors asked that I take their corgi dog. They have had him for many years but due to their age are just not able physically keep up with him now. I have two brutes, a Bull mastiff and the Great Pyrenes , they are gentle giants. The corgi is so much smaller than them and is always busy . They all know each other and love playing, of course with the small corgi in . I have always loved having dogs and am actually forward to the addition. Probably the biggest adjustment will be having him indoors during the bad cold since he is not really built for big cold exposure. I am going to be surrounded by dogs, actually not a bad thing. Have you ever unexpectedly made a pet addition your "herd"? What is the most pets you have had at one time? Who do have now? I have had this "new guy" for several months and he is fitting in well. He has my two guys under control.

 I don't have any pets, but a neighbor across the street has a brindle Bull Mastiff. She's a beautiful dog and so very calm and gentle. She sometimes wanders off and comes over to visit and to get attention. lol

 I have had pets in the past, but not the last few years, as they only pets allowed here are support animals. Hubby wants to get a support cat, that would be so great as I miss my Mr. Meow Meow.

 Often the smaller dogs are the boss!
On the farm we always had unplanned additions to the dog and cats we had. Kittens were often left abandoned at our gate. Someone dropped off a dog saying if we didn't take him in, he'd have to be put down. A lamb that somehow missed the lorry taking him to auction. We were a soft touch!
