LETS COME TOGETHER

Ok whether you support trump or not we are in this together, it will effect all of us about this wall, now I understand we can't let every one into the country, but unless you were born Native American your ancestry came from another country looking for a better life for their family, now if the Native Americans had built a wall none of us would be here, think about it. Some are agreeing to this out of hate, some out of fear, but most say that we have too many other issue to add more that doesn't have merit. Who really profit from this wall? I think the companies and the private land owners, and some lobbyist, think about while you are out there saying we need it, the citizens will not.profit. only pay the bill. These lobbyist, already rich company will profit, we will only suffer more tax debt.

There are several dumb-as-a-box-of-rocks things about wanting to build "more" wall. First is that we are having the opposite of an "emergency" at our southern-border. Illegal-immigrant crossings of our southern border is at a 45-year low. Totally bogus emergency!

Second is that further wall-construction is the least cost-effective solution to immigration problems or to interdict drug smuggling. Much cheaper and more effective to use drones and cameras in remote areas, supported by more Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) agents; and to provide better tools/screening equipment at border-crossings to prevent drug smuggling or illegal crossings.

Third is that the biggest cause of illegal immigration - by far - is people coming into the US on tourist visa's . . . mainly flying in, legally . . . and then over-staying. A wall has pretty much no impact on that behaviour.

Fourth is that plenty of companies - including (especially) the Trump Organization's golf-courses - knowingly employ illegal immigrants on purpose . . . happily exploiting them by under-paying. Make it a crime - with teeth in the punishment - to employ undocumented workers, and the main reasons for illegal border crossings will go away.

Last point - refugees from violence or oppression applying for asylum - have the legal right to cross any of our borders, whether there are walls in place or not. This right is guaranteed by the US Constitution; has been confirmed by the Supreme Court; and has been reconfirmed by multiple international treaties that the US is a signatory to.

The term is Legal Immigration.
Many of our ancestors did it by going through Ellis Island. The idea that we are allowing this influx to continue is frightening but not paying government employees is NOT the answer.. And howto care for all these people- we are maxed out to provide adequate facilities and food. It's time we stood up and did ti the right way-

(Virtual Symposium Group) use Virtual Symposium Group

You are focusing on the wrong point, I never said let them in, I stated we are the ones paying for this shutdown, there is another way to get this done if it is so important, but hurting working families isn't the answer, fear and hate cause to much damage, and as long as people can't stop focusing on those without and open mind we will lose in the end,and by the way Ellis Island wasn't in place when the first settlers came to this country

I find the whole thing a joke. There won't be enough money to build the
damn thing.I can understand people's viewpoints even though they don't
experience any of the problems from the constant hard core traffic that traipse
through our desert and the trail of garbage that litters state parks.

They do a great job tunneling their way to prosperity anyway!

Using more than all the road!

Well since you're so worried about debt , what were your thoughts about Obama's spending ? Did any of you have a problem with all the monies that went to companies with the green agenda ? Who lobbied for those companies ? I guarantee you that a whole lot more money was wasted on those programs than will be spent on that wall . Also , enough with the Native American argument , that's just a lame argument to justify illegals coming into the Country . There's a process for immigrating here legally and it needs to be followed , it's the law and it was there long before Trump became President . So quit acting like he made up all these rules , they were there and they were being ignored by every asshole politician before him. Also , the term is legal immigration . What the hell is "legal migration" ? They don't even have the same meaning . If you don't believe it then look it up in the dictionary .

I never said Obama was the greatness president, again people are missing the point, I never stated let these people in here, again you are reacting out of fear or hate because you are not listening, it is about what this shutdown is doing to us here in now. It could have been handle a different way without making American suffer to get what he want not exactly what is needed. Some of the laws need to be change so the control is in order, but hurting working families isn't the answer

All i will say is that this border wall nonsense was just a reminder for Trump to get his base, all riled up and chanting for something. This isn't about border security as much as he and his administration claims. Not when he gutted DACA and he rolled back protections for people seeking asylum. His administration has done what they can to end legal migration and now this false emergency.

But you're right, we're all in this together.

The haters can't see that, they only see and hear that we are against trump, I hope trump take care of them for their undying love for him, he won't he only care about himself. and he gets what he wants no matter who is hurt, He is a dictator, and they are helping him with his goal.
