Gold members can't contact Standard members

It used to be that a gold member could contact a standard member but not any more. A gold member recently sent me a message and it's all blurred out. Even the old messages that I sent a while ago are blurred out. I imagine that if one pays the hundred and something dollars to allow standard members to contact you then they can read and respond. It used to be that that extra feature meant that standard members could make the initial contact but that has changed so that even if a gold member makes the initial contact, the standard member can't read or reply. It's one of the reasons that I'm no longer a gold member - the rules keep changing and I never know if my messages are read or not.

 That is exactly why I will never pay for this site again. They essentially took the ability of paying members to contact non paying members away. If that was the case when I decided to pay for a membership, I probably would have reconsidered and not spent the money. I have written multiple times to the company to complain and have received no response, so when my membership is up, I will delete my account and go elsewhere.

 Yep....use the blogs....but not everyone knows to do that. It really is crazy that GOLD members cannot contact everyone. I wonder if they know that?

Unless they read the complaints on the Site Support Blog and/or read blogs in general when the news first broke about this issue then no, they don't. They are still sending messages to standard members not realising the recipient cannot read them. The site chose not to inform gold members - a combination of paying and non-paying members - about this change.

Very sneaky on the part of the site.
