Goodbye Rose Colored Glasses A Poem

I did it again
I donned
My rose colored glasses.
I let my heart
And mind
And soul
Get wound up!
All for naught!

Back they shall go
Those glasses
Colored of rose
Back to the back
Back back of the shelf!

Dust they shall gather.
For they no longer matter
I wonder if they will be
Of use to someone else?

How could I let them
Have that unrealistic view?
I would be doing
Them a real disservice.
Not to at least warn
That they might need
To take them off
If they had any sense!

Goodbye once bright vision!
Once positive and full of light vision!
Those glasses did you proud
For that shining moment.
But you did not last!
In fact you went by so fast!
That you evaporated!
In a flash!

Those glasses
Of rose color
Like the season of the flower
Of their namesake
Came and gone
In their usefulness.
Goodbye eye adornment.
My eyes will seek an alternative.

 Glasses are good... and so is the color rose. I drank rosé from similar, yet differently shaped glasses... yesterday. Perspective was gained... 👓😎🎅📝
