Dear Fate A Poem

I wanted to know you yesterday
I wanted you to understand
But this I couldn't plan
So I settled for fate's hand.

Be kind to us
Dear fate.
We know how easy
Things go awry
Do you have any sway
With the way
The wind blows?
Can you make it light
For the next few days?

Dear fate,
He could mean
The world to me
Add the stars
And the moon
And sun too!
Can you guarantee
These orbs remain
In orbit
And that they are visible?
Can you please
Keep them in my view?

Dear fate,
I can't read his mind.
It is not my superpower
Neither is his
The force of will.
We are just humans
With imperfect skills
Doing the best we can.
With your help
We might just
Have a chance.

Sometimes I think
You are not embraced
Dear fate.
I am known for offering
And giving hugs.
I would gladly give you one.
