With each passing day
I find I am losing the race
To find someone
To be my partner
In relay.

They would be
Part of my team!
Finally someone
Interested and integral
To my success!
They are even sharing
In part of the burden
While I wait and rest.

The tears I shed
Tasting of many
An emotion.
Finally someone
Cares enough
They may just
Stick around
Til the end.
