A Way To Pass The Time A Poem They say they want me. But what do they want? A quick roll in the hay? A way to pass the day? I am numb But also afraid They will be just like All the others Big effing mistakes! It is true That I am not too hurt I do receive some pleasure. It is not the be all And end all Of interactions. But I will get by. I will live to tell a tale. And then another And another. And perhaps in not Too long a time I will find someone Who is more in line With my ultimate desires. Dare I mention what They are now? Or will that act Like a jinx somehow? Scaring away those who Would stray Onto my path that is No longer straight But crooked As it winds away From the love That I so dearly crave But know it might Just be too much To attain. That unknown someone For whom I long Whose face Is not presently in view But as I cross My fingers And wish upon a star He will be real And appear Proving my fears of his not Showing up Wrong.
