Misgivings A Poem Misgivings Written in 20 Over and over again Go the conversations In my head Things you and I Have said From the simple To the More complicated. I try and I try But still I cannot fathom What made you Turn from What made you Lose interest What made you Disenchanted. I thought we Had resolved All questions In a timely manner. That our differences Were not insurmountable That we knew better Than to make Mountains of molehills. I am not infallible I can admit I make mistakes I was hoping Against the odds That you would Not be one of them. Can you reward With a reprieve? Give us another shot? Can you ease My mind of doubt ? Tell my misgivings I can forget? That time was just The element That I misjudged? That you are as wonderful As I originally thought.? Independently Romantic Sounds Better Than Lonely |
