Not To Settle For Just Anybody. A Poem

A question asked of
What if I am single
years from now?
Could I handle that?
Would it be so awful?

What I want to be
Part of a couple
In a loving relationship
If that does not
Become my reality
Can I deal with
Being on my own?

I manage okay now.
I might whine
And lament being lonely
But I shouldn't settle
For just anybody.
I know being
With the wrong person
Can be miserable.
And being by myself
Is much more preferable.
