LOYALTY-Does It Matter To You??

Loyalty is very important to me....I give it in spades (when deserved) and expect it back. But sadly some people don't have a clue......

To ME loyalty means you tell me the truth- You care about my thoughts & feelings- Your words & actions are one and the same!

I think much of this makes sense to me.............

.I should note that the list below was part of an article I read on the subject of loyalty....

Loyalty is one of the traits that people generally say is important to them in relationships, be it romantic, friendship, business, or otherwise. Yet some of us don’t make it a priority or give that quality enough credit. Here are some reasons why staying true and sticking by the people and things you care about is the best thing you can do for yourself, and those you care about.

1. IT’S LESS MESSY THAN CONSTANTLY SWITCHING SIDES.
There are enough things to cleanup in life, so making a mess while you go just isn’t necessary.

2. IT EARNS YOU GOOD KARMA.
Is karma real? Who knows, but it might be safer to assume that it is.

3. YOU CAN BE A LOYAL GIRL WITHOUT BEING A “GOOD” GIRL.
You can be a sassy or as freaky as you want in your relationships but stay loyal and you’ll just feel like trouble instead of actually causing damage.

4. YOU’LL FORM DEEPER CONNECTIONS.
Loyalty leads to feelings of security, which leads to better communication and deeper bonds.

5. YOU HAVE TO BE LOYAL TO YOURSELF, TOO.
Loyal to your emotions, beliefs, needs responsibilities, health…

6. YOU WON’T GET PASSED UP FOR WORK OPPORTUNITIES.
You can be great at a job, but if you aren’t accountable or you have a reputation for screwing people over, it’s much harder to grow and be rewarded for your work.

7. ONE DISLOYAL ACT CAN RUIN YEARS OF LOYALTY.
Might as well keep the good thing going.

8. YOU CAN BE LOYAL BUT STILL HAVE BOUNDARIES.
Being loyal doesn’t mean you have to put up with bullsh*t in life; it means you give people an opportunity to show you their true colors and then you make decisions that work for you.

9. YOU’LL BE QUICKER TO ACT WHEN IT COMES TO DOING THE RIGHT THING.
If you’re feeling the urge to cheat but just morally can’t allow yourself to do so, then you end a relationship before you cheat and simplify the whole thing for everyone.

10. PEOPLE WON’T BE OUT TO GET YOU.
No ‘eye for an eye’ plans are put into place if you don’t do something shady in the first place.

11. IT DOESN’T MAKE YOU A BADASS TO BE MEAN.
Enough said.

12. YOU’LL HAVE REAL RELATIONSHIPS.
It’s much harder to stay with someone who you know you shouldn’t be with when loyalty is a top priority. Things get real when you’re accountable.

13. GUILT HURTS LIKE A BITCH.
Is there a worse feeling than knowing that you could have avoided hurting someone you care about?

14. YOU’RE MORE LIKELY TO BE TREATED WITH LOYALTY, AS WELL.
If you’re loyal, most people will be loyal right back.

15. YOUR EXES WON’T BE ABLE TO SAY BAD THINGS ABOUT YOU.
Well, okay, maybe there are a couple bad things they could say about you, but won’t be that you’re a cheater.

16. YOU’LL HAVE MORE FRIENDS.
Disloyal people tend to blow people off when they make new friends, but if you’re loyal, you can just keep adding friends. Much more reasonable.

17. PEOPLE WILL REMEMBER IT.
In the short term, hustling around for the best opportunities can be tempting, but in the long term people keep around trustworthy and stable people above all else.

18. YOUR POWER WILL COME FROM RESPECT.
Not from your ability to swindle and play games.

19. LOYALTY LETS PEOPLE KNOW THAT THEY’RE WANTED IN YOUR LIFE.
There is less pressure to try to make romantic relationships and friendships work when people inherently know that they’re working.

At one time there were 3 meme's along with the post, but they seemed to have disappeared. Ahhhhh well...the quirks of passion....lol

The last pic is a tattoo I had done yesterday...a symbol for loyalty............

It is very important! I think it is undervalued but it does win out over time!

If you can't count on someone to have your back, keep a promise or whatever else loyalty means to you in whatever situation then what's left? The loyalty someone shows to you is a direct representation of how much they care about you.
Very true....loyalty is being there for someone through the good and the bad, and to do that...would definitely require caring about someone!

I agree...to me loyalty should spread to all areas of life. But you are correct, people can say anything they want..but if their actions aren't backing up the words...then something is wrong somewhere!

I agree with you that #7 could be seen that way-or could be interpreted in different ways.

For me personally, I would not necessarily count someone as disloyal if they didn't agree with me in all things, we're all entitled as individuals to think..feel and act a certain way. I try to always see both sides of a situation, so I think I would weigh that particular issue..decide if it was that important for me to implode a friendship/relationship and go from there.

The list was part of an article that I read about loyalty....I probably should have noted that!!

The average employee is with the same employer only 3 1/2 years these days. But the loyalty is from both sides...is the employer loyal to the employee and is the employee loyal to the employer. It works the same in every aspect of life, in every relationship. A two way street. But when it works, both feel so much better than when it doesn't. The trust, the dedication, the love are all soooo much better. I had a marriage that lasted 29 years and I have only filled out one employment application in my life. So, I have been blessed with loyal situations!

Very well said by you and the replies are great too. I often find people are not as loyal to me as i am to them. I try not to lower my standards but, I am often disappointed in people.

Thanks...I am in love with the tat too...lol It took me a little while to decide on it, but it does signify something very important to me.

Loyalty is a quality that I admire and very much desire to find in the next man that I will give my heart to as well. When one has my heart, they have nothing to worry about. Honesty is equally important to me. Without it there really can't be trust and without that...there is nothing.

Glad you liked the post...
