It Got REAL........

It Got REAL........ Well if you haven't heard of Covid-19....I'm not sure where you have been and what you've been doing- but it's just gotten REAL...REAL for me and mine!! My daughters both woke up feeling unwell the other morning (Tuesday), so we took temps and both had one. Not high, but within the range for some worry with the present time. Add to that one had chest tightness and the bells went off loud & clear! These girls needed to get tested! I should back up a little: Both are healthcare workers- the oldest is an RN and the younger one is a nursing student, presently working as a CT Tech in a hospital, while working towards her RN degree. They seem to have gotten their possible infection from a friend though. They were all together before the friend showed any symptoms and our city started restrictions. Because of them being healthcare workers, and the need for them to be back out there to fight this war- they were tested that same day (Tuesday). They still needed to have a phone call conference, or teleconference with their primary doctors, and get referrals for the test before they could go get the test. Some were being given test dates for a day or more later! They were told that results could take 5 days!!! I'm guessing that is because of the numbers of people being tested and the supply of tests being sketchy? Soooooooooooooo in the mean time...we are self quarantined and waiting! Clearly all of us are out of work until their tests come back, and depending on the results....get sprung, or spend the 2 week period in the house. I have shown no signs or symptoms (thank God) and despite me being nearly 60, I am not in the category to be tested as of yet. PLEASE people....take this seriously! No cure...No vaccine...Not a lot known on this yet! #StayTheFuckHome  Be Honest..Be Sincere...Be REAL  |

It's still flu season and I extend my hopes that you and yours are wrestling with this less risky (but still annoying) illness. Regardless, your forthright reporting to this community (along with your important hash-tag) is a helpful reality check to those members who still feel that C-19 is *someone else's* concern. Get well soon! If anyone knows they came in contact with someone who potentially has it...or does have it, they must do the right thing and self quarantine! It is being reported that it is NOT just older (60,70,80's+) people or those with underlying health problems getting hit hard! A Centers for Disease Control and Prevention analysis of U.S. cases from Feb. 12 to March 16 released Wednesday, shows 38 percent of those sick enough to be hospitalized were younger than 55! They were ages 20 to 54!! Stay safe....wash your hands!! Be Honest..Be Sincere...Be REAL

Oh my. Good luck, God Bless, and thanks to your RN daughters for their service to our community! They both love the profession and want to get back out to help. I don't think we've seen the worst of this yet and our healthcare system may get overwhelmed! But some new things were mentioned today about possible meds that are already out there. Good morning sweetie! I hope the girls don't gave it but it looks like they do. I was sick back in February for 3 weeks with the same symptoms and I had a flu shot. But they didn't know about this yet. I see that California has been on lock down sence last night. Butch

If I am able to go back to work soon...I'll be out there too- I work in a supermarket as a "personal" shopper! 5 days? 🤔 That seems like four and half days too long. 😮 I'm guessing the system is being slammed hard, since it took quite awhile to get the ball rolling in this country..(I won't get started..it won't go well....lol) Hopefully it will get better.... Be Honest..Be Sincere...Be REAL

I actually had a pretty nasty cold/upper respiratory thing going on about a month/two months ago as well. But I don't think it was this new thing. Our state is locked down as far as any non essential businesses. Shelter in place may be next if the numbers keep going up...and sadly they will! Stay safe Butch!! Be Honest..Be Sincere...Be REAL

Thank you....we're hanging in there, just waiting for test results' As soon as my girls woke up the other day with fevers and a few other symptoms....that was it. We knew what we had to do. This thing is no joke! One just has to take a look at China & Italy to see that. You're not so old....lol Stay safe! Be Honest..Be Sincere...Be REAL

I truly hope you and your daughters have only a bad case of the flu. I know that the C-19 test is just like the one for Flu A & B. It only takes 4 seconds but it's not really pleasant. I know since before they realized I had pneumonia I had one done!! Not making light of your plight but I hope you have TP (Virtual Symposium Group) use Virtual Symposium Group

I know since before they realized I had pneumonia I had one done!! Not making light of your plight but I hope you have TP They both tested positive! Thank God they've both been able to fight it off well and I'm hoping that some immunity will have been built up a little. Experts are saying maybe...but it will probably just be short term. We are getting close to the end of our isolation hallelujah!! They are healthcare workers and I work in a supermarket...so we will all be back out there! Working in a supermarket I was able to get TP....and some other things, but had to adhere to all limits on quantities just like every consumer. Thanks for your concern! Stay safe! Thank you so much! They did test positive for Covid-19.but they've weathered the worst, and feeling better, and anxious to get back to life! I've remained symptom free....but the scary thing about this virus is that some people don't show symptoms and can be a carrier or have it! So how do we all really know for sure? More widespread testing will need to be done on everyone as more and more test kits come in.....and social distancing needs to remain in place. We NEED to listen to the health EXPERTS.....not fools that don't know of what they speak!! Be safe!! Be Honest..Be Sincere...Be REAL

I will do that...thank you for your appreciation of the health care professionals. I will try very hard to stay healthy...I am out at work each night in a supermarket, so our house is Lysol central!!
