Your First Car?

Okay in 1976 I started driving

My first car was a 1974 Red, White & Blue Ford Pinto.
Yes, the ones that were known for exploding gas tanks.
Thank goodness mine never did.

Sure enough like everyone else those days
we installed 8 track or cassette decks with power amps.
Along with CB radios.

Thinking the price of gas was .40 or .50 per gallon.

Growing up in Central Jersey
I used that car a lot to take me to Asbury Park or into NYC.

Fun times with the first car...

And your first car was ?

1974 Pontiac LeMans, but I didn't start driving until 1988. It spent more time in Philly or one of the South Jersey Shore points.

First car - 1964 Chevy Impala SS, was my grandfather's and he wasn't able to drive anymore so I got it.

First race car - 1971 Ford Pinto, destroyed it the first season on Labor Day. By the end of that October I had another Pinto ready to race plus a street Pinto just in case.

When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.

The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

First "Car" was a 69 Spitfire. Wasn't practical, but it was damn fun - top leaked almost as much as that 1500 motor - good thing I had a Ford pickup and a couple of bikes already

1969 VW 412 Squareback with more than a bit of body rot. It had been my Grandma's, used to go to church and the store across the Minneapolis salt with no washing.

Seems like most first cars were from family members
