Thank you. My cats have always been like kids to me, since I have never had kids anyway. Each loss hurts just like losing a close family member.

I'm very sorry for the loss of your friend. Cats have a way of leaving their pawprints on one's heart.

Thank you. Tho I only had her in my life 10 months, she was precious to me, as is her younger sister is now. We both miss her very much ! Let no one say animals dont grieve a loss of a companion, as my Cinder is doing just that, having had Fuzzy in her life since she was born seven years ago !

Thanks. While I have had 30 cats in my life over 57 years, often 2 or more at a time, the loss of each one is a memory that never goes away. I have no family, except an errant Sis in Orlando that chooses not to communicate with me, so my cats are terribly important to me. My Cinderella is still with me, and since she was Fuzzy's sister, they had been together their entire life, so she is having a tuff time adjusting, more so then me perhaps. We are taking care of each other tho .

I see my post was edited, Fuzzy was thirteen years old in Aug, and her sister is seven years old now. Fuzzy died on Sept tenth at seven twenty five am after several days of hanging on to life! Lastnite was the first full nite of sleep I have managed in over three weeks. maybe Fuzzy's spirit has moved on now to cat heaven or the equivalent !

I'm so sorry about Fuzzy. I get really attached too. I lost one of my rescue dogs this past week and spent the day bawling. Hugs!!

Am so sorry to hear of your loss as well. It has been 2 months & a week now, since Fuzzy passed. Has been hard on me, but even harder on her sister, Cinderella, as she had had Fuzzy as a companion since birth. It looked to be touch & go for awhile, I thought I might lose her also, as her grieving was so strong. But in the last cpl of weeks she has finally started acting like her old self, tho I cant do the grooming she got from her sister. I give her all the attention I can tho, and she is adjusting. So thanks for the good thoughts, and I return the same to you, losing a pet HURTS !!

Sorry for your loss, pets are such big part of my life. September , my mini schnauzer, bichon frisee at age 17 had to be put to sleep. We were heartbroken, all 3 cats seemed to be looking for him. Pets give us so much.

Years ago, in the '90's, I had a cat that was a rescue, owner was going to drown her, as he had already done with her kittens, his son brought her to me, knowing I took in animals in need. She was a very unhappy cat, I had 3 others, and she didnt want anything to do with them at all! Eventually, she made her piece, via the screendoor method Jackson Galaxy recommends in such cases, and became grudgingly one of the clowder of cats in my home. A few months later, I rescued a female french bassett hound, and with no claiming her I ended up keeping her as well. My cat Shallom (named by the son who brought her to me), made friends with this bassett hound, 6# cat, 80+# dog, and for the next 14 years, they were inseperable. Neither gave a dam about the other cats in the house, which sadly one after another died over that time, and when Marty Bassett died at the age of 17 yrs, Shallom went into mourning, and I thought I would lose her too. During the following months I DID lose another cat, just short of his 18th b-day, I got him the same way I got her, but from a different source, And suddenly, Shallom for the 1st time in her life was an only pet! it was devestating for me, to lose 2 in 6 months, and facing the probable loss of a 3rd soon. I went out and found a kitten needing rescue, a 1/2 siamese 1/2 russian blue, who was a handful of hot pistol! HE would not take NO from Shallom when He wanted to play, and brought her out of her mourning and gave her life for two more years. When she finally did die, at age 18, natural causes, it was hard on him too, and he escaped out the door, seeking her I think, and was never seen again!
Some folks think animals are not intelligent, sigh, most are far more intelligent than we give them credit for, and those domesticated, even more so, and form attachments & emotions not seen in the wild. I have had 30 cats in my 65 years, and 5 dogs, and all were as intelligent as a pre-teen human at least, maybe smarter! There isnt a day goes by I dont miss each & every one of them. And truthfully, I get along much better with animals than I ever have people!!
