It was... the Friday from hell.

It was... the Friday from hell. We had a potluck at work Friday. Potluck, meaning, coworkers volunteered to bring dishes of food to share with others in the spirit of bonding over a meal. I was one of those coworkers who brought in food. I had canvased my place of employment all week to see who was bringing in what so I would know what to purchase to fill in the gaps on Friday. Nearly everyone I spoke with said "I don't do potlucks... I'm not bringing anything." Funny, though... all those people who didn't bring anything certainly didn't have any issues with EATING the food everyone else brought in. Kind of PISSED me off, to tell you the truth. Even better??? One of them actually complained to me that there "could have been a salad option." Really??? Want a salad???? Bring a salad to share.... Once again, I'm disappointed with the population at large. I live in a world where people just continue to take from others without any regard to giving back. |

Geez at least offer some money to pay for drinks or chips, Ya know "all that and a bag of chips" We did potluck at my retail and I know just how pissed off I can get at the gluttons of free

Most of ours are too... Which is why I thought the pot luck would be a fun change. It would certainly be easier for me as I'm the one who has to put all the events together. It definitely was not easier.

The company I previously worked for was generous when it came to christmas and bonuses. We would get a bonus depending on how many years. Well there was this one jewish woman that didnt believe in christmas, etc but she would gladly take the bonus.

I abstain from work potlucks but that means I also refrain from taking any of the food others brought. That's how it should be. People do have reasons* for not liking work potlucks but it is beyond crass to mooch like that. *financial, dietary, annoyance at trying to make work overly sociable, etc. etc.

i know right??? i hate it...i get some of the co-workers don't cook, or on certain diet...but at least they can get boxed fried chicken, wings, pizza, or pre-maid salad, or sammich....or drinks!!!! you know what i mean??? but yet, they bring nothing, and come to the table and dig in...some are eating seconds!!!! at our work, it got sooo bad, boss finally said, if you don't bring, you ain't come to the table...yah...seriously...some people...

That's a bummer. I guess ya coulda asked them for five bucks.... Kinda defeats the purpose of pot luck, doesn't it? Oh well... They're on your naughty list now, right? 😮 🤔
