Ok Ill use your example you attempted to use as proof for your democratic socialism Can we model our economy based on the Nordic countries? Easy, no. Nordic countries have different assets and different problems that formed their politics, and among them, their economic models. You cant introduce a system built for low population, cold climate countries with varying types of resources to work in a massive nation like the US that has basically every type of climate, resources and problems. And their economic models are not made for funding the worlds largest "police force" first we would have to greatly reduce our nations population next like the Nordic countries we would have to ensure that the remaining citizenry is a homogeneous group. the allow NATO to serve as its main military defense and use that money instead for social programs and whatnot. If the US did this it would create a serious imbalance of power and would have implications in the global market and the global community. Many countries and world leaders depend on the us military. The simple fact is the US federal government does not have money to go around. The US does not collect enough tax revenue to meet the needs of citizens, social program obligations, military, and infrastructure, even with massive borrowing leading to large budget deficits. If the us cuts both military and social spending by one third, the US would still run a budget deficit. Not enough tax revenue equals not enough money, That's math, not politics The Nordic countries have about a population of 26 million we have 325 million. They also have largely a homogeneous population with very low levels of immigration With the population not being diverse like us. The fact that they are so homogeneous population they have more stability People are mostly the same with same ideals We aren't. I can keep going with % of gdp expenditures in different categories but I dont have to as you were the one that touted these countries as your "proof". You would have had to know all of this already, but wait, if you did, you would of have made the statement or claims at all. You would have already seen that it isn't possible here. If you can do the math I can lay it out for you if you need it Well, it seems that you just got served
