AOC exposes corruption in American banks Our banking system is corrupt. They will steal from you whenever they can. They will make as much from you as they can. whatever fines they have to. Of course the banking system is corrupt but more regulation isn't the solution it's less. The banking system is already one of the most regulated industries on the planet. They're are 5 federal agencies that solely regulate the banking industry on top of the local and state regulations. All that regulation kills competition and breeds corruption. Let me explain. A company needs it's customers to survive but banks don't need their customers bacause they have these federal agencies with a vested interest in their survival. No matter how much they abusise their customers or make bad financial decisions they make. These government agencies are going to bail them out because if the bank fails the agencies will be gone also or at least have massive cuts to their programs. So to save their own paychecks these regulators use their political influence to make sure if these banks get into trouble they will just get a nice fat check instead of going under. Just like Franny may and Freddy Mac during the housing crisis. AOC is just going to feed the beast with more regulation. And when it fails to prevent more unfair business practices they're going to blame capitalism because it's such a easy scapegoat.

Similar issues here with unfair / unethical business practices and a too-close-for-comfort relationship with the Ministry of Finance. And we always thought corruption was confined to banana republics and authoritarian states. Silly us.
