Fake/Scam Profiles Found In “New Matches/Newest Members”-Who Do You Feel Exhibits Greater Ignorance?

.

Each and every day on this site there is an abundance of new fake/scam profiles being posted that are viewed by some members who recognize and report them for abuse.

For those members who do report them, it doesn't take more than a few days of doing so before recognizing that the pictures being used on these fake/scam profiles are actually of porn stars, models and celebrities, even without using browser tools like TinEye or Google Search for Image to verify them.

With that in mind, who do you feel exhibits greater ignorance regarding these fake/scam profiles?

A.) The 'scammers' who utilize over-used pictures of the same-old, same-old porn stars, models and celebrities ...

Or, B.) those guys that view these fake/scam profile pictures and leave comments on them, such as:

47M - "Amazing pic love your hypnotic eyes"

55M - "Truly gorgeous! Wow!!"

39M - "Gorgeous"

47M - "So very sweet and have an amazing body would love to massage your sexy butt"

55M - "very nice pic"

57M - "Those (large breasts) are impressive!!"

47M - "No words will never describe your true beauty"

What I want to know is why passion doesn't just run an algorithm to spot these fakes as they are posted. They are so obvious.
Oh, wait, then they wouldn't be able to claim as high a membership. Silly me.

I believe they do for the 'spam scams', especially for the hundreds of fake/scam profiles that the 'Ghana Scam Team' posts every weekend, using one of seven identical profile Introductions, and those inviting guys to join their sex/swing/party clubs, using identical pictures and profile Introductions, but the individual fake/scam profiles using pictures of porn stars, models and celebrities are usually spread out instead of all bunched together on the same pages.

Fake how? No picture means a person is fake according to some bloggers. Not answering a message or im is a fake? Not being interested in somebody doesn't mean fake. Not saying you consider my examples of a person being fake. Just no idea what you consider fake.

Humans are the most dangerous animals on earth.

If only animals had the ability to know when to keep away from us humans they would be better off.

The fake/scam profiles (not "fakes") I'm referring to here are universally defined as those profiles using pictures copied and pasted from Internet sites containing pictures of porn stars, models, celebrities, etc. for the purpose of obtaining personal information and/or money from naive'/ignorant people.

I'll take "C" for $400, Alex.

Hi PK. I'm surprised one of the choices wasn't AFF. Have you ever wondered how someone could view your profile (or send a flirt, hotlist you or make a friend request) on a date in the future of the last time they were online?

Have you ever wondered how an alleged member is displayed and then pictures of a completely different person are shown by AFF on the page after logging in?

If "C" isn't an option, I'll give a qualified "B". That is as long as it isn't a scam validation of the scam. How would you know? Ve hov our vays.

BTW, I never realized Sting was singing "a message in your butthole". See what I learn here? (rh)

Have a great day.

Ciao, a presto, Bella.

or the site itself would think twice before using a
celebrity,porn star or model.Maybe it's a company
that pays this site for access to collect information
for any number of reasons. This one being the level
of intelligence of certain people who post those comments
and the wealth of information they provide for future
duping campaigns.

Using more than all the road!

Although I will admit that anything is possible, I firmly believe that the site currently has nothing directly or indirectly to do with any of the many fake/scam profiles that are posted.

Without a doubt, the men believing these fake profiles are real show the most ignorance....hence why the fake profiles will only continue to increase on this site.

I cannot disagree with either of your comments, however I have noticed that certain 'authors' of these fake/scam profiles have given up their daily postings when they've finally realized that their time-consuming efforts of posting fake/scam profiles are being reported and deleted within hours of their creation by those of us who identify and report them for abuse, which usually only takes us about 15 - 20 seconds per report.

the guys who respond/comment/etc

I also always am amused at the fake profiles that have names like BJGoddess or BegginforIt69 and then have profile that says
"I am looking for my one true love, I have strong moral values and love god"

How are these profiles fooling anyone?

My congratulations, a guy that actually reads what's written on a profile!

This site is a money making enterprise and just like any other money making enterprise some fake things are included. Some of them are interesting though even if fake they entertain

Yes, this is a money-making enterprise, but except for their misleading Marketing slogans (Hookup, Find Sex or Meet Someone Hot Now), I'll repeat what I've previously said that I firmly believe that the site currently has nothing directly or indirectly to do with any of the many fake/scam profiles that are posted.

There's been a plethora of fake profiles targetting UK members - I used to report maybe five or so profiles a day. Sometimes they disappear, sometimes they don't. I reported this to the Support blog as the fake profiles are very easy to identify - they all follow the same naming convention and all contain a URL somewhere in the profile so why can't they be flagged up for inspection before they go "live"? So as the site are not willing to do anything about it, I'm not going to expend any effort in reporting them any more.

I just have to assume some people are still a bit naive when it comes to faked profiles and they just see what is in front of them at face value. After I got scammed a few years back, it made me very wary of things and I question just about everything now.

The site uses computer algorithm programs to 'screen' new profiles, but unfortunately the level of those programs is extremely limited only looking for email addresses, phone/text numbers, and/or monetary symbols (indicating prostitutes or pay-for-services), and that do not recognize those that are spelled out or cleverly 'hidden' in their profile Introduction narratives.

the scammers are just trying to get something for nothing and the commenters probably don't realize that many profiles are totally fake. There are many tips that let you know if you look close that its a fake.

Patti_Kake replies on 3/8/2018 12h44:

With computer programs (that don't cost anything) like Google Search for Image and TinEye, these commenters would realize which of the profiles are fake/scam and not be as ignorant or need to use "tips"!

Patti Kake,

To answer your question, B.) those guys that view these fake/scam profile pictures and leave comments on them. Admittedly, even though I have been a paying member since 2005, I've left those very same type comments in the past and later on realized they were fake. Right now the fakes are taking over. At least fake "women" from Ghana and Nigeria anyway.

I started using Google Chrome exclusively when browsing passion a while ago for the right-click context menu option of searching for the image on Google. It really nails the porn star/celebrity images on Twitter, Instagram and adult galleries. Suggest all reading this switch to Chrome when browsing passion.

I reported 7 fake profiles to passion yesterday, 5 Standard and 2 Gold. All 5 of the Standards were deactivated by this morning. A couple within a few minutes of the abuse report. passion will not deactivate fake Gold profiles. They have not deactivated a single one that I have reported this year. Same porn star photos are still there, location might have changed, but they are still mining away. Exasperating to say the least! If you catch that fake Gold member during a lapse to Standard though, they will sometimes deactivate.

I sent a Suggestion/Feedback to passion that could help us identify fakes more easily.

I propose that passion adds two key pieces of non-editable information to the profile page above the Travel Location. "Billing Location" and "Logged In From" Just the general area, state (Florida), province (Quebec) or country (Ghana), derived from CC info for Gold members plus IP address for Standard members. Only GOLD members would be able to view this information. Granted, Gold and Standard members could still mask their location with a VPN but it should be a pretty easy server side include to redirect Standard members to a page telling them to log in without using a VPN. I use a VPN for privacy which is not the same reason as a fake Standard member would. I kept track for the last month and a half and 99% of the members I interacted with turned out to be fake or scammers. Only one member actually turned out to be real. Unbelievable! I'm giving you ideas here. Do you care about your legitimate customers and their on line security or not? Make passion a fun place to log into again.

The suggestion will fall on deaf ears of course.

I think it is the guys. It takes 3 seconds to right click on an image and then Google search it.
