I will NEVER enter another photo contest on here I have informed the site support of my disgust by the way these contests are conducted. The support I have had from all who voted for me and campaigned for me is unbelievable and I thank everyone of you. While their excuse for my missing votes is questionable at the very least, it is still astonishing that over 80 of my votes have vanished. Taking their reason that people changed their votes I could accept a few might do this but over 80 ??? I have discussed with a few friends on here why the votes might be really removed and one friend suggested that maybe I was winning this vote by too big a margin they had to make it look closer for futher contests to be competed in by members. A possibility but whatever reason it still doesnt excuse that a contest the includes a VOTE lets people change it after being cast. Can you imagine if that were possible in an election what chaos it might cause. (maybe Trump might not have won if this were the case lol) Well I'm almost finished with my rant but I have one last thing to say. One of the supporters of my closest rival in the contest left abusive comments on my photo on 3 occasions. In the end I removed the comments and blocked the couple responsible. I now no longer care if I win or lose this fucking contest because it has left me so angry at the tactics used by this site and others in it HAVE A NICE FUCKING DAY Y'ALL Come check out my blog |

Sorry to hear this went down Juggsy... abd given that it's very hard to change the way they run things... I'd just chart it off to experience and lessons learned. Plus all this malarkey doesn't detract from you being a gorgeous, intelligent, fun sweetie (person)

To a large degree, the number of votes you get is dependent on when you post the photos. Timing is everything. If you enter near the end of the contest, there's no way you'll rack up enough votes to win, unless the site rigs it in your favor. The window for posting should be no more than a few days, and the photo sequencing should be completely random. None of the photos should appear until ALL the photos are posted and the contest is over. Then the voting starts. This method would eliminate the advantage of posting early.

It is something that always pisses me off, and I'm not in the contest. They make it a photo theme, for instance "Labor Day", and for some reason there is a pic of someone in the shower in the finals. How does that relate to Labor Day, and what makes it worse is that someone else who followed the theme, and in my opinion had a better post, didn't make it to the finals. How is this fair? It happens month, after month, and who ever chooses the editor's pick sucks balls. In my opinion they need to change the format, possibly new random judges who aren't in anyones friend list, and change they every month. Hey what do I know it's just my opinion.

this has been true of tv shows also, for example, American Idol, Dancing with the Stars, the Apprentice, and could be some more, the fine print sort of says that the producers have the right to make the final decision

The fact they call it a Contest when it isn't a contest says it all really. (If anything, it's a Prize Draw, not a Contest, and there are very strict legal rules to be followed if you are attempting to run a contest. But they refuse to change it.) They've followed this arbitrary process for years. I remember a friend from the chat rooms submitted maybe seven photos for one of their "contests" some time ago and the photos were very popular in the initial stages - the contest "rules" claimed that "those likes and comments count!". Well they counted for absolutely nothing. Despite five of those photos she submitted being in the top ten of popular photos, none of them made into the final 30 or so. Go figure. Yes they need to limit the number of votes to one per member, but to allow them to change that vote once it's been made is a bit off - the list of finalists aren't going to change so why let the member change their vote? But losing over 80 votes sounds very dodgy indeed. And there's no need for abusive comments from other finalists on your picture, that's out of order. That should be reported and the perpetrator removed from the contest. I understand your frustrations. I've never submitted a photo for these "contests" nor have I participated in voting for a friend as I just don't believe it is run properly despite their attempts to introduce a bit of fun to the site. The whole "contest" thing needs revamped.

As wrong as this is it is hardly surprising on sites like this. The powers that be don't seem to care too much about what their paying members want!
