A Message Delivered in Las Vegas

In a little over 24 hours, I will be on a plane to Las Vegas.

This morning when I woke up at a new friends apartment (I will introduce that subject shortly), I received a text from a friend, that will be going to Vegas with me tomorrow, about a shooting and that 50 people were dead.

In the last couple of hours, I have been watching the coverage and wondering why another human being would do such a thing.

Family is confused, he has no record, he is not on a watch list. It does turn out that his dad was a psycho criminal but that connection seems loose at best.

I have my own thought and perhaps a very dark hope. I hold my greatest kindness for a man that had a message to this country. He wanted to illustrate just how easy it would be to obtain some of the most effective killing weaponry in the world and demonstrate how it could be used to take lives in one of the most greatest symbols of fun and care free life in the world.

Message delivered.

I know...it is a sick though...but this is the message. No armed man or woman, set on exercising their 2nd amendment rights prevented or could have prevented this carnage. These weapons used should have never been available to him or anyone else in this country.

Shame on you NRA.

Now back to your regular scheduled programming.

It is all about attitude, approach and presentation! What is your AAP?

A psycho criminal father doesn't seem like a loose connection to me.

It will be interesting to see what kind of relationship they had. By doing the math, it seems pretty estranged.

Thanks for dropping by my blog. Enjoy your day.

This is just horrifying. I favor some gun control laws and I support some of our right to bear arms, but this carnage is beyond my scope of comprehension. Is this type of mentality inherited? Is it a gene defect? How are gun controls going to be enforced when there are human beings walking the earth such as this? No one knows

The fully automatic weapons this nut job used have been banned for ordinary civilians since 1934 unless they are federally registered and a federal license issued to own them. What needs to be addressed is how he acquired them.

I am not sure I completely agree with this statement. Two gun shops have said that he purchased many of the guns legally. Those details will be forthcoming. There is weaponry available out there that shouldn't be.

Thank you for coming by my blog! It has been quite a day.

Mr. La Pierre told us that if everyone were armed there wouldn't be killings like Sandy Hook. Now you have over 20k good old country folk gathered in Vegas, with few state gun restrictions, listening to performers who fiercely yell about their 2nd Amendment rights. Surely many, many of them were armed - but none of them stopped the shooting.

Why?

I echo your comment...there was no defending what this guy did or the guns that he had in his possession.

Thank you for dropping by my blog.

My comment and question were clearly aimed at Mr. LaPierre who clearly lacks of firearm knowledge since everyone being armed was his suggestion. The teachers at Sandy Hook were there to teach children and didn't want to carry either.

That is correct. It could also be ... and this is what I'm guessing ... that the weapons were standard off the shelf items that were modified. That Genie has been out of the bottle for years. Even before the Internet.

Not sure why I did not think of this before but he could have been bump firing. Plenty of vids on the tube place demonstrating the technique.

Am I the only person who believes that America's Founding Fathers were not thinking if assault and multi-round weapons when they wrote pritected the "right to bear arms"?

Check out my profile or and become a "watcher" of my blog FMAOPLS,to learn more about me, and for intelligent, lively, smartassy and fun discussion, with a little irreverence thrown in. "Like" or comment on my photos, and I promise I'll add more. Thanks.

This is true about our 2nd Amendment and other laws here too. Our politicians only care about how much money they can stuff in their pockets via corporate lobbyists.
