Chevy vs Ford an age old war!

In the wonderful State of South Carolina there is a Chevy vs Ford war going on ..It all stated with a hugh billboard put up by the Ford dealership , claiming that " behind every good ford is a Chevy " sparking the Chevy dealership owner to put his own sign up , insulting the Chevy trucks making them seem less appealing to the public..While each Dealership Chev and Ford continues to put the other down by broadcasting on the local radio putting the other down ..truck sales are booming and each diehard Chev or Ford owner is sitting back laughing at the silly antics , which they feel is a combined ploy by both Dealerships to draw attention thus making sales skyrocket..
Even the most dedicated Ford or Chev owner wouldn't feel pressured to " switch sides " they also defend their choices..lol Millions of fans for either side and no end to the war kind of good humored jokes put neighbors at loose ends of a war.Instead of touting at which brand of truck is faster than the other the owners are wondering why the Dealerships are not more concerned about towing capacity or torque ..shouldn't they be fight over that instead of " how fast them trucks can go?"
In the end though no one is going to get a die hard fan of changing their minds with a couple of billboards and a few put down advertisements over the air waves , because in South Carolina you are basically bred to like a specific brand of truck..It is exciting and hilarious to see the dealerships compete for billboard rights to continue snarky campaigns to out do the other .
This post does not reflect on how I feel about people having dedication to one brand or another its all in fun ..I am a hard Dodge fan and am happy with my choice , but would not put down anyone elses choice ..The memes are just for fun as well.

It's all about your own individual taste. I've had Fords, Chevys, and others. They ALL had good points and bad points, but yes it is very important to properly maintain a vehicle for the best performance.

yes I agree about maintenance if its properly cared for and has specific things done by either the owner or certified mechanic then any vehicle can out do or out last..even the gals here in the small town nearby take a basic mechanics course in order to maintain their own vehicles ..its a proud statement for a woman to make if she can keep her vehicle up to standards..bravo ..thanks

its all about the choices that people make to suit their needs every vehicle has pros and cons but if the owner doesn't look after the vehicle then whats the point ? ..thanks

awww a man after my own heart ..lol...my husband was a licenced mechanic he worked for Chrysler for a lot of years and he worked for all the Dealerships , he was a very conscientious man he made sure if he could drive your vehicle safely then he did his job right..His preference was Chrysler products as is mine because they seem easier to work on ..its again a choice..

I also have had all and my choice is dodge as I learned from my husband that he found the Dodge more easy to work on...Its a choice he made working for a lot of Dealerships over the years he always came back to Dodge ..he owned the 'Cuda for 40 years so he was a dedicated mechanic...

There was a similar story in Reader's Digest years ago about two clothing stores in New York City. These two Italian owners would sit in the streets shouting at each other about how good their merchandise was, and how bad the other's was. They would shout insults at the other owner, and just carry on. As it turns out, they were one store, connected by a passageway in which merchandise could be carried back and forth to the other place of business.

I've had my far share of both so i'ld have to say they are both worth the trouble they all have. Tell the truth my two Ford ranger where the best little truck but I love my two Chevy suburban for size. Had two Ford vans now u have a GMC 4 door pick up. Yet it will be my last truck can't afford the truck they build today 65,000.00 for what a truck. What a joke.

I hate to admit this "in public", but I rarely buy American cars/trucks/bikes anymore. I've owned too many and learned my lessons. These days it's mostly Toyota that gets my $$$. Not because they're cool or that I particularly like anything about them, but because I'm tired of weird things going wrong. I like it when the things that go wrong are the ones that you can expect to go wrong as a vehicle ages.

However, if I ever had the $$$ to restore classic old vehicles, American all the way! I'd start with a '69 Corvette Stingray. Then something like a '47 Chevy truck. Then a vintage Indian 101 Scout motorcycle...

Even an herb as sweet as basil is nothing without its bite.

Ford or Chrysler all the way!
GM builds cheap products, more expensive to repair, GM dos't design them to be repaired, they have been bailed out "twice" with our tax money because of their cheap poorly manged production!
Corvette "America's Sports Car" not considered much on the world market of real sports cars!
OH, I did own a baby blue over white 1957 two door hard top, last good Chevy!
