I've driven up to 750 miles to spend the weekend with someone that I really wanted to meet. More than once. It was always a fellow blogger though...someone I had been interacting with for months or years. Opportunity may knock only once, but temptation bangs on the door forever!

I voted "other." If it's someone that I feel is a potential real relationship I'd go where ever. If it's just a weekend hookup probably 2 or 3 hours.

A first meet? Plan a weekend when you do not even know if you can tolerate 15 minutes with someone? Crazy!! Even if you’ve been chatting online or phone, camming, sexting, etc. you never know if there is actual physical chemistry until you actually meet. Unless money and your time is absolutely no object (airfare, hotel, time off work?) maybe better to plan coffee, an adult beverage...or a meal with someone who is a little more local.

Tresennui, I interpreted the question to mean it wasn't the first time meeting someone, it was the first time spending a weekend with someone you'd met previously and were sufficiently into. 2-3 hours to spend a weekend with someone who lives in San Francisco or Sacramento wouldn't be too bad...but it wouldn't be as an initial meet.
