A Fly On The Wall... Watching - Instant Karma... 😉

A fly on the wall... or... a 'Paul' on the curb? They both... see... and hear things. The fly, has wings. Paul (that's me)... waited... for the valet, to deliver his car.

Standing next to me, was a handsome, well dressed, young man. He nodded and smiled. We both waited, for our cars. I'd just stepped out of that 'Thai' restaurant, behind me. The meal was fabulously authentic, if you know what I mean. It was... salty and sweet... and sour and spicy. Really spicy! But I liked it like that.

An attractive young woman, draped in a fitted black dress, sauntered closer and joined our queue. She flashed a radiant smile and gave another valet, her ticket. He... scurried off.

That, young man (the one next to me), turned and spoke to that, young woman.

"Great meal, wasn't it? This place deserves its reputation... no?" he remarked.

She nodded her head. "I thought it was fantastic. I wish my boyfriend had felt the same. He didn't like it. I blew a wad of cash here - its his birthday. And he's in the bathroom, throwing up... half the bill," she replied while laughing. "He lied to me, about liking spicy food," she'd stopped laughing. A tear... propped itself, into a corner of one of her dark, smokey eyes.

Taken aback... by her honesty and vulnerability, the young man spoke again; "Don't feel bad. My girlfriend, is doing the EXACT, same thing. She's in the lady's room. She couldn't stand , this place. She never stopped complaining."

The young woman, wiped the tear from her eye and laughed nervously. "Really? I loved the meal. I made reservations, months ago. I had to save a few weeks. He told me, he wants to try different foods. No matter where we go... he fucking hates it."

"He sounds exactly , like my girlfriend. I can't take her anywhere," the young man replied. "Maybe... we should hook up... your guy and my girl ," he continued while laughing. "You should have heard what she told me, when I asked her to go sky diving with me..." and he laughed again.

The young woman perked up and spoke. "Sky diving? Are you serious? I'd love to go sky diving. I've been asking my boyfriend when WE can go. He told me; 'When Hell freezes over', " she shrugged her shoulders and smiled sadly.

And with that tiny shrug, the conversation ended. There were no 'goodbyes'. The valets had arrived. Their dates, stepped out of the restaurant and into, their respective cars.

I stood there and then watched something, completely unexpected.

That handsome young man -bumped - the car, of THAT beautiful young woman. It was a nudge, that was hardly worth noticing - but I did. So did, both drivers. He immediately, opened his door and began apologizing profusely. She, was already walking toward her rear bumper. The young man, promised to pay for any damage he had caused. There was none , to see.

I watched, as he scribbled his name and number on a piece of paper and gave it to her. She touched his hand and took it from his fingers... and folded it, into her purse. I watched, as they smiled at each other. And then... they drove away.

I stood at the curb and realized what I'd just witnessed. Damn...! I'm not sure, if I would've had the imagination (or balls), to try THAT.

The valet spoke. "Sir. Sir...? Your car..."

I wondered... what it would be like, to be that fly on the wall... next time, those two meet.

My wife and I met in the office. I had just gotten a new job and she was my administrative assistant. ☕
We used to work hours and hours together on a variety of projects and stuff. Many late nights. I would drive her home... and that's where it started.
One night after work, I didn't drive her home. We drove to a restaurant. 🍴
Blah blah blah... you know the rest. 😊

I did once meet this woman on a dating site. We started out by emailing, then texting, then talking on the phone, for hours and hours. Yep... That's how it started... 🤗

My dentist? What a dumb fuck question. 😮
I had a tooth ache and I went to his office. He looked at it, took x-rays. Filled the fucking thing, then charged me an arm and a leg. Ever since then... I've been supporting his kids through private schools. Yep... 😊

As an observer (not a voyeur) and student of human behaviour, many times, I have felt like that 'fly on the wall'. Sometimes, there were things I wish I hadn't seen but they were far out-numbered by the positive ones. I often was left wondering....how things turned out....my imagination, filled in the gaps.

That's a great story, and I am seeing a date real soon in their future. What a unique way of inspiring a hook up. I met my hubby while I was bartending, he used to come in with his sister and her bestie ( an ex fuck thing for him ). She was so pissed to find out he was interested in me. This is a man I would of never thought about dating ever. It just goes to show that opposites really do attract.

Thanks for the great read, and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day..

Seduce the mind and see what a wonderful adventure the body will take you on..

I enjoy your story telling very much. If I had been the 'Paul on the curb' I would have been secretly laughing at the whole situation.

I met my dance instructor at a renaissance festival when I got conscripted for audience participation.
My husband I met on a blind date. Through mutual friends. Ah...the good ol' days.

Opportunity may knock only once, but temptation bangs on the door forever!

My last sweetie I met after receiving two very sincere letters via a web site. Those led to a sort-of blind date in front of the Custom House which turned into a gastronomic repast at a famous restaurant oddly named Fore Street ( makes ya wonder doesn't it?? )
I was a practice manager for a group of maxillofacial surgeons so you could say I "knew" every dentist in town. [ funny this site can take words out of our blogs but then goes ape when it cant recognize something added- it doesnt like maxilo]

Secretly laughing? 🤔 Nope.
I was trying to pay attention, without paying attention. Ya know what I mean?

Dance instructor? That's a good one!
I love that blind date concept. And it worked out for you!
THAT is a romance novel in the works, no? 🤔
Thanks for sharing. 😘

Well... That's a cute story.
"... maxillofacial..." you're so funny. The fact that I had to google THAT... is that proof of my illiteracy or proof that I never needed THAT type of dental work... or both. omg 😂
Thanks.
Not sure how I'll work that new word into a random convo... 😊
Famous restaurants are great places to meet people. Is there anything better than eating a wonderful meal with someone you don't know.... in order to get to know them? 🤔

THAT
... is such a cute and devious... story... lol 😂
Ya did what? Hmmm... I can just imagine it. Sounds like there is a prologue there. In fact... there is MUCH more to say.
Thanks for sharing. I can visualize what you're talking about.
Sounds.. like a classic! Yep?
Will I hear the rest? 🤔 🔥

Salsa baby!! I love to dance. I was pumpin and grinding on the dance floor. Doing some dirty dancing and this guy was watching me all night. Finally at the water fountain he followed me. Asked me if I could teach him how to swivel his hips- of course I did💕💋💕

I have only met guys on dating websites for the past couple of years. I don't know the last time I met anyone in real life or passing. My ex fiance in the 1990s I met at work. We were engaged on Valentine's Day less than two weeks later. We lived together for 2 and half years and then I broke it off. Just could not see myself happy with him for the rest of my life. Ha. I had a part time job once at a convenience store. I worked there for about 3 months. I flirted with a lot of the customers. Well I guess I made an impression on him. A few years ago I get a FB friend request from some guy who had a few friends in common including some relatives. He said I looked familiar. I had no clue. Then a week later he asked me if I had worked at that convenience store 20 years ago. Yeah. He remembered me from 20 years ago. My how time changed the both of us. LOL He had long blonde hair back in the 1990s now a days he is bald as he shaves his head. I have gained weight. We hooked up for a little while but then he met someone else and broke off seeing me. He married someone last year on his birthday(I guess he won't forget his anniversary eh?). But he still contacts me and wants to hook up. Yup just this week he was texting me as he was off a few days. I declined the offer. I did ask him why he still wants me and he said a few flattering things about how I am enthusiastic etc. I said well I fondly remember how he gave me oral sex with his big tongue. If only I could lose my morals for a day...again. LOL

Twenty years... wow... That's a long time to keep a memory.... although... I'd recall good oral sex as well. 😘 ❤️ 💦 🔥
I recall reading one of your poems about him contacting you.
Lose your morals for a day.... hmmm... ok. If you insist! 👍 😊 🔥

Meeting people is all about confidence and... practise. Practise being yourself, I mean. I'm sure you could succeed if you took all the pressure off yourself and just were YOU. 👍
Yep... a fly on the wall... It's fun, once in a while. 😊
Thanks for popping in and sharing.
