Are There Advantages... To a Man With a Titanium Shaft... 😶 "And then he says to the judge - well, if it were mine, I wouldn't have put it in MY mouth." I almost choked on my vodka as the four of us sat there and burst out laughing. Jennifer had always reigned supreme as the queen of the triple entendre.  Lynn looked at me and rolled her eyes as if to say, haven't we had enough? John caught Lynn's frown and playfully admonished her with a boisterous, "Oh, come on, we're celebrating Wednesday and no one's driving." I smiled back at Lynn. She'd admit that even though Jennifer and John were a bad influence - and occasionally annoying - sharing a faithful mid-week chuckle had become an oasis in the otherwise empty abyss of our social lives. We looked forward to these weekly adventures; especially since we'd quit the choir.  John *assiduously pulled out his custom leather holster. He diligently sharpened the stainless steel tips on all three of those 24 gm titanium gripped darts and gently caressed the fine *fletching with his fingers. Finally satisfied, he raised his head and confidently grinned at me. I stared back at him and blinked... then took a gulp from my glass. I never got any good at darts, but it was a fun way to pass the time with friends. And no one got hurt. lol 😂 It's been a long while since I've been back to that club. I think we ALL long for the days when we can socially interact with others not inside our current 'bubble', Paul. Hopefully they will arrive sooner rather than later. Stay safe...... Cheers.

I am offended that you think we readers need the definition of assiduously! I'll concede that fletching was helpful, though.  It's been quite a while since I've had a neighborhood bar hangout but I have some good memories of the CC Club at 26th and Lyndale in Minneapolis. [image]

Oh how I miss hanging in bars, good food , drinks and laughs. Throw in a drunken one night stand once in a while. The good ole days.

There was this one club in WI some friends and I went to but I can not remember the name and when I did a search I could not find it,; so it might be long gone now. The last time I was with some friends were a week ago at one friend house and we had our mask on . We laughed and talked and had a good time in spite of what we all are dealing with now. The Light is shinning and she is lonely and waiting in the darkness.

I haven't played darts in years, but I wasn't very good when I did play. The trouble is, ya gotta hang in that place to get better, and ya can't get better without hanging, on to that bar tab. I always avoided keeping score and focused on NOT hurting anyone.
