Whatever happened to the blogger meet-ups?

Have not heard about any of these in a long time. I will be visiting Lower Manhattan soon and would love meet a blogger or two. Just drinks, great conversation with a mutual interest.

It has been about ten years since I last met a blogger and it seems like most bloggers on here now are newer and a little less outgoing when it comes meeting other bloggers. I think I have met three different bloggers in my time here and had wonderfully fun conversations with each of them. It also seemed like two old friends meeting up again after being a part for years. We were total strangers in most regards but felt at ease immediately. being from the South where most people are very outgoing and super friendly I tend think others are that way. I do get that today's divided landscape and because of the pandemic most people are not comfortable getting out and meeting people. But I believe in living and not letting anything keep me from enjoying life. Sure would be nice to meet a blogger from here when I reach NYC.

So here is a question for you... (two part) ? Have you ever met another blogger from here and what keeps you from meeting new people?

 lol I just got back from a weekend with another blogger in Savannah! I've probably met at least a dozen bloggers over my years here, especially when I was traveling a lot! Hope you find someone to share an enjoyable time with.

 I've met one blogger from here, he was in a nearby town on business, I not only met him, I picked him up at the airport and took him to his hotel rather than him having to call an Uber. We knew each other pretty well though, both from the blogs and the chatroom, and talking privately. Never expected to actually meet, since he lived in Canada.

Now while I was blogging on alt years ago, I did meet seeral local fellow bloggers, and remain friends with them to this day.

I don't even think the local groups are having meet ups at this time since the pandemic.

And that is what friends are for, saved him the hassle of getting a ride and had a good time doing it. This really is a small world when we find out how much we have in common with other people. I had dinner and a night out with one I met in Nashville several+ years ago when I was there for a conference. It was just like we have know each other all our lives. Thanks for commenting... and being a person who gets the enjoyment of life.

 I haven't, but wouldn't rule it out. Travel/distance is a main reason.
