Does Kale Belong in Smoothies?

Seriously, does Kale belong in smoothies? Back in the day I worked in a kitchen and we used kale as a freaking garnish...and it tasted terrible...so how did it wind up in our beloved creamy, frosty beverage snacks?
Fuck No! Kale sucks panther balls!
Hell yesssss! If its good enough for Hollywood stars, it’s good enough for me!
Other opinion no one cares about...please put in comments!

To be completely honest...I work in the food industry. I'm chef in a cafe/restaurant, and on a daily basis we actually do make quite the number of kale/mango smoothies. personally I don't like the taste of kale, but do have to say that basically that's all it boils down to, a matter of a person taste really. yes, they say that kale is apparently good for you, but on the other hand, I saw this comic style video that went around facebook, called "The A-Z list of what can kill you", and kale was in that list

I don’t doubt the overall health benefits, but 30+ years ago when I did kitchen work, kale was not eaten. It was used as a garnish. It was stiffer than cabbage and not at all tasty. In the interim, it seems to have found some fans...but I think its funny that it needs to be ground up super-fine and mixed with other things in order to be edible.
