Real or Fake

So what would you think if one day you carry on a long IM chat with someone, seems to go very well, but the next few days you can't get a response from them when you IM them? Would you consider the member to be real or a ?

I have had them disappear for a few days then pop back up!

 I wouldn't stress about it. Life is busy. Maybe the person had a lot going on and passion isn't their priority? Just enjoy the conversation you had and move on. IF they are real, they will get back with you. Don't miss any other opportunities waiting for her to return!

 It's not like she's not on passion or even on IM. I see her, send an IM and no response or all of a sudden she's no longer on the IM list. It's disheartening to say the least.

 Could be either or, most likely fake though. The IM fucking sucks on this site now that you have to use 10 points to speak with one person when you're standard. Remember when they gave us 5 people a day to talk to then put it to 3? Now it's fucking 0.

 not getting a response on IM does not mean she didn't try to respond. I have responded many times and the guys all say they never got anything from me. The only way I know for sure that someone has read my response is when it turns from 'delivered' to 'read'. If she has tried to respond with no success and you are just a standard member, what is she to do then? She has no way to contact you. What's really odd is that, while I am unable to get messages to go through, I am bombarded by IM's from guys who are gold who I don't know at all. I do not respond to those and, after awhile, I will turn my IM off in frustration...I don't think one nice convo in IM and then an inability to connect again for a few days is a reason to start thinking along the lines of real or fake. Like jd said, she could actually have a life outside of passion.
I hope she is able to finally contact you again. If you hit it off again, you might consider creating a private chat room on the site so you could agree to meet there when IM messes up.

Perhaps you should include the info about your private mailbox/blog in your description on your profile so it's easier for ppl to see that you have that?

 One way to spot fake profiles is to run a Google Image Search on the profile pictures, or any sent to you during chats, see my blog post "Fake or Fraudulent profiles". It's amusing to find the real owners of the photos!
