Sex Ed? 🤔 hmmm.. Oh yeah... A buddy of mine who was ten (I was 9), had a deck of cards. Wow! We spent days and weeks examining them. 😎 And then there was my neighbour. She was a year older than me. I was ten when we first played Doctor 😷. My sex education came from reading the stories and "How To's" in PlayBoy and Penthouse magazines, then practicing in the back seat of an old Chrysler! My Dad did instill one thing in my brain, you knock a girl up and u squat to pee the rest of ur life....  So I concentrated on oral skills, that worked really out well! Great post!

As I recall there was some minimalistic formal education coverage, but my Parents did not engage me on the subject. My Father and uncles would drop us boys off (when we were about 12 years old or so) at one of those private trash dump sites in the woods under the premise the old guys were going squirrel hunting for an hour or so. Interestingly there were plenty of these ‘girlie’ / Gentlemen’s magazines laying around and we sort of educated ourselves while we waited for their return. Now that I think back, I don’t think we ever heard any gun shots or saw any dead squirrels when they returned. Just a lot of empty beer bottles to add to the trash pile.   Looking for Mischief

As a young lad I had a few neighborhood girls that liked to "Play Doctor" a time or two. So by age 7 I had seen a few naked girls; legs spread and close up. Junior High and High School I was the wall flower/nerd no one wanted anything to do with. Basically just like you it was Penthouse and Playboy and the sex books my best friends dad had hid in his closet. Adam & Eve catalogue also helped with an oral sex VCR tap. Other than that it has been trial and error. So nice to be insane; no one asks you to explain.

I learned at a young age by reading the Joy of Sex and from Playboy magazines. I had to sneak them out of my parents bedroom though. Funny women are incredibly sexy!

Ordered sex manuals by mail, that and porn. We had a kinda sex ed in high school which consisted of warning the girls about boys. Please don't let me be misunderstood.

I vaguely remember some sort of sex ed in middle school...I think they used bananas and condoms...but by then it was old hat for me. Little backstory on me for anyone reading this...my parents were total hippies...dad was a folk rock musician, mom made all our clothes. I don't remember this but my mother told this story to me. We lived down the street from a commune and one time when I was about 5 I came home for lunch. "Did you have a good time", mom asked. "it was pretty good. I learned a new game today" "Oh what game is that" she replied "Its called Fuck", I said Mom got a strange look on her face "Oh really? and how is played" I commenced to tell her about how the game was played. She didn't get upset or punish me even for dropping the f bomb but I don't think I was allowed to go down to that house anymore after that.

In England our sex education only got as far as holding hands and spreading your cape across a puddle to prevent trenchfoot in a lady. Regards SOP

My parents sat me down with an anatomy textbook when I was very young. I remember correcting the teacher in my first sex ed class in the fourth grade. I didn't learn much about what sex really meant until I came here. I spent a huge amount of time reading and participating in the advice lines back when that was a thing, and I learned a tremendous amount from that experience. In particular, it got me thinking about sexual paradigms. Sex, more than anything else in life, is what you decide to make it. People tend to focus so much on the details and mechanics that they lose sight of the big picture which I found to be so very much more rewarding. Figure out what you want sex to mean to you, and the details will take care of themselves.

I should also mention that my parents' frankness about sex led to some odd situations, like the time I walked in on them having sex and said: "It can wait. Go back to what you're doing." And walked out.

That's a great question! Growing up I didn't get any relationship or sex advice from my parents. When I was in 6th grade, I happened upon a torn out page from a porno mag and I immediately stuffed it in my back pocket (I won't go into detail with how long I kept it) eventually I felt guilty and I burned the page with matches. I was super religious at the time. (which kinda makes me laugh now) In high school we had a health class that covered reproduction, then we were shown a VHS tape of a woman giving birth in a hospital. When I went to college, I was still a virgin, and I got my first skin on skin sex lesson from a woman that was twice my age. (long story short) she was my roommate's coworker, we threw a weekend party, her and I hooked up. She did all the heavy lifting, but I was young and cute.
