Okay, I don't scrounge the dumpsters, but you can't help but notice things right? Case in point, while dumping my own household trash yesterday after finishing my lunch, I came upon two things someone had tossed away, that were still useful. One was a brand new coffee maker still in it's original packaging. The other was a cordless vacuum complete with it's charging cord for the battery. I passed on the coffee maker.. I have one, well two of my own already. One I use daily and another still in it's box stored in my pantry closet in case the one I use decides to quit on me. Now I've been asking the bosses ( past and present ) for years to get me a cordless vacuum so I can do the stairwells with out lugging a hundred foot electrical cord behind me when I do the job. Frankly doing so is a pain in the ass. The cord always gets tangled or caught on something, or in some cases it's too short to reach the last landing at the top of the stairs on the third floor. ( FYI. each of our stairwells only have one outlet in them, back in the day when the places were built they didn't think they'd need more than one ) Any who I grabbed the cordless vacuum and took it back to my shop to see what was what. Turns out the reason who ever threw the thing in the dumpster did so because the intake tube on the thing was clogged up. Being an internal tube, they... I assume had no idea how to unclog it. So, using a plastic zip cord we use to unclog bathroom sinks with ( a barbed plastic strip that we snake down the sink drains to remove hair clogs ) I unclogged the intake tube toot sweet, and Presto! I now have a working cordless vacuum. Cool Beans! I'll now be able to actually vacuum the stairwells around here instead of having to use a broom and killing my poor old tired aching body in the process. Perhaps even shorting my time doing them by an hour or more? I guess what they say is true? One man's trash is another man's treasure. Off to shower now.

Just a little trick to keep in mind ; carry a small size trash bag with you 😉 That way if you need to empty it ; you don't need to rush to a trash can to empty it 😉 Tuck the bag up under your belt and carry it with you as you go 🤔🤠

you are right..ya never know...once while on security patrol behind a strip mall i noticed a painting propped up by a dumpster..as there was a framing shop in the mall i checked to see if it was a mistake...they knew nothing of it...i got it home and looked on the back and it was 1942 wartime dutch..valuable? who knows but its graced the wall over my dining table over 10 years now.. woop woop

I am a picker. I love antique, junk, thrift stores. Garage sales and yes, junk on the side of the road. I will pick thru anything looking for something useful. Congrats on the cordless vacuum!
