My work

My work
written December 16th, 2020

When I was young
I thought I would have children
work I dutifully showed up for
and a home
maybe not with a white picket fence
but you get the idea.

The children - the home - the work
did not come
I thought I had failed
not tried hard enough
fallen off trac

I did not realize
that life had diverted
put on a different path
which I am still discovering.

My children are different from yours
my home and my work
things that only I would recognize
as home and wor

Do you see them?
I will teach them you
with my words
in these poems.

 Some poems, are more poetic. I never pay attention to rhyme and meter, but they are more organized. Other times, something I am reading, a poem or a book, inspires me to start writing and I just let it go where it will.

 Ironic: when I was young I thought I would never marry or have children but I did both. It seems life chooses for us an awful lot.

I imagine most lives don't go the route we thought they would when we were in our teens. That's part of the adventure I guess.

 We all have our path in life.
A journey to where know one knows.
It's up to you and your partner to work it out.
For every corner we come to we don't know where it goes.
If you had children would it have change thing.
Your work would it be different.
Home is a home a place to be safe enjoy .
We have no children
Other then the for begged one
We had two homes now one
We are happy and hope to stay to the end
I hope your happy content in your world.

 It can be said that we never get
What we want in life
But instead receive that which
We can handle best we can
Youthful exuberance gives way
To meaningful deliberations
Look not at life’s losses
Instead count the blessings
Both seen and unseen
In the end all one can hope
Is for an existence filled with hope
That each day becomes anew
