What I MIss

I mean, yeah, of course I miss sex. This pandemic has had me locked up inside staying safe for a while now. Surprisingly, though, I think I miss board games more. Sitting around a table, laughing with friends and strangers, playing some silly game. I've done it regularly since I was little, starting with family game night. I played pretty much every week before this lockdown. Now it's been quite a while since I have been able to sit down and play.

You see light dappling on the water and forget the deep, cold dark beneath.

What about you? What do you miss most (other than sex)? What board games do you play?

You see light dappling on the water and forget the deep, cold dark beneath.

Simply put . . . Touch.

I know it's often lumped in with sex, but I just mean holding hands, or a gentle caress, or his hand on my lower back as we take a walk. The texture of skin on skin that touches further than skin deep . . .

This is so very true. So many times people jump straight to the sex and they don't take the time to thoroughly enjoy the simple pleasures of a touch or a kiss. Walking along the beach hand in hand. Relaxing wrapped in each other's arms. The touch.

i miss buffets.

yeah, they were kinda creepy to begin with,
and i have passed on some things
until they were refreshed or replaced.

but where else can you get a couple bites of dozens of different things
instead of one huge dish that starts to just taste the same
over and over again while you eat through it?

"well only get through this if we work together. if we dont, none of us will"

I miss live music. Our town had a few socially distanced street concerts last summer, but most live music has been on ice for the last year and it is something I enjoy. I've noticed it slowly coming back, but haven't gone out for any yet. Another outdoor event next week so maybe I'll get back to it.

Thankfully, with my husband and two nearly adult children, we've actually sort of resurrected game night in the last year. Especially early on when nearly everything was canceled. Usually we are going in so many different directions with school, work, sports, friends, etc...I'm grateful to have had that time with them...more family dinners and more game nights. We play cards more than board games. Ten point pitch mostly. Occasionally dominoes.

Absolutely. I miss the little concerts, some fresh music. I miss Shakespeare in the park. The small gatherings. Though they are slowly coming back. But I suspect, especially at first, so many people will be starved for that sort of thing, they won't be "Little" gatherings. LOL.

Cards and Board Games are great. I'm a big board game geek, and I'm totally envious of you getting to play. ha ha.
