A blog is a personal thing. You can write whatever you like (within reason of course). If you are specifically talking about blogs on the passion site, some people will use blogs to "advertise" themselves, some will use the blogs purely as a popularity contest, some like to post pictures of what interests them or what they think their audience will like, some like to be controversial or be deliberately argumentative. Over time, people find what blogs interest them and know the ones to avoid.
