Chargers fall in opener
With the Pacific Ocean as the back drop, the Chargers stepped onto the field of play with high expectations, but instead were greeted with a very frosty reception by their host team.

In a back and forth battle that put on display both teams ability to score on long drives, it was all the game that it was billed to be.

However, the Chargers fell short in the fourth quarter on the last drive of the game that could have possibly produced a tie. Loosing the contest 28 - 21 the Chargers left the field with their opening game on the road with a very heartbreaking defeat.

It did come down to giveaways ... even though the motivated Chargers gave up four interceptions and two fumbles; they were still in it to the very end. It was an interception that ended their drive with just two minutes left in the fourth quarter.

Next week the Chargers face another daunting task when they take on a powerhouse opponent on the road.
