Un villageois à New York

A villager in New York
Spring 1975 I fly first to Montreal
Then Hitchhiking, to New York City, I see hitchhikers on small cards written with their destinations, so I am writing NY City.
The man who made me into N Y is black, I do not understand why he hides in a paper bag his drink. In France I am a truck driver and when you go breakfast drink 1 or 2 aperitifs and on the tables of six were entitled to 2 liters of wine and yet you can request when you finish them at that time there was 16,000 deaths a year on the roads of France, the young thus made me drink his soda and there Rum. Nice it leads me to the address, it was cool, the 70s.
Unfortunately the house had changed ownership , fortunately the phone number was correct, then the guy who had received me made me understand (because I did not speak English and I still do not speak I hope you can follow me )
I could call, the one who tells me is french, fluke, he explains how to go to the new address, but it's too complicated, then the guy takes the phone and notes the address leads me subway to the house, it was really cool the '70s.
It is said that in New York you never meet someone by chance, well, him I saw him the next day by chance in a street.
With the French of the house we became friends, he spoke English, we went to Washington Square, we met two girls, we flirted,( courted), then kissed , of course there was nothing more.
In the evening we went to see a rock concert, I think it was the Ramones, I went to the bathroom, guys were telling me "Acid Acid" I did not understand what they wanted.
My friend made me smoke on its joint I never smoke, then I heard music coming up to me like waves. That was pretty cool , the '70s .
When I entered the park guys were telling me "Smoke, smoke" I did not understand what he wanted.
When I took the bus, I saw people throwing money in a transparent box so I was like them, I threw 2 or 3 pieces of currencies, thinking, this is America where everyone puts money that he wants to travel to New York, I found that it was cheaper than buying a token of Metro, so I took the bus as often as possible, no driver never said anything .That was pretty cool , the '70s
Why New York, from above you would think that there are only taxis ?
On the subway car I saw graffiti everywhere, I did not understand what was written or why we did that.
These are the first impressions of a young Occitan in New York
