Another thing I have noticed with online dating/hookups is the trust issue. While I am still new to all of this, I am having a rather difficult time even getting to meet someone for coffee. Most of the time, I dont even get a response, but when I do, it's usually one of those fake profiles that I mentioned earlier asking for my or email address.
Now I will admit that my schedule doesnt exactly allow me to play during the week, and that most people would like to have something during that time. In fact, by the time I am free to play, most people have already got plans for their weekend. Kinda sucks for me, but hey, whatcha gonna do, right?
As I've said before, I am a real and confirmed member. I paid for a 3 month membership to see where it goes. Worst case scenario, I am still single and looking at the end of the 3 months with nothing to show for it.
So, back to the trust issues. I believe, at least for me, it is very difficult to get to know someone online in just a few days. Some would say impossible. Eventually, one or both parties is going to want to take it offline to make something actually happen. That is the key point. WHEN do you do this? How long after talking with someone is it ok to reveal personal contact info?

I have now been on this site for about a week. I have filled out everything on my profile, added pictures, been confirmed, etc, etc,etc. One thing i don't understand is why are there so many fake profiles? I now have over 125 ppl that have viewed me and I would venture to say half of them are fakes or dont even exist anymore. Most of these are from China, Japan, Taiwan, etc. Why in the hell would I be interested in starting a relationship with someone halfway around the world?
Anyway, I hope to find someone soon. I have been single for a while now and dont have many friends. My personality type doesnt really mesh with a lot of people, so I tend to be a loner. Still, someone to snuggle against at night would be wonderful once in a while.
