I found this article on the internet and got to thinking.....what are the things that feed my soul? So, I thought I would ask the question here.
...this is an excerpt from the articile:
"The soul lives in the moment. Like a Christmas tree, the soul sparkles with light when it is plugged in. So, what are some of the ways to plug into your particular soul on this very busy Planet Earth, where life is not dull and there is so much input of information, demands, and everyday stimulation? Most days are fast and hurried trying to keep abreast, keep track, and keep it together."

Finding Some Perspective.........

I am feeling sad, lonely and lost. A thought popped into my head -- that I need to find some perspective. Hmmm.....find some. Where do I look for it? Is it already inside of me? Is it in my mind or heart....or both? Will I find it in a book? Perhaps the Bible or a dictionary? Will I find it with friends or family? A fortune cookie? Online? Here, on this site? In prayer or meditation?
This post was meant to be serious......and again, not so serious. Any ideas for me?

It was a bit cold here in Minnesota this weekend and is getting colder. I was out today and didn't think it was too bad. That is, until the sun went down. Then it seemed MUCH colder to me.
My question to you is this: How do you (or would you) stay warm if you were in frigidly cold weather?

I'm Not Gonna Do It
Another relationship ended –
I am left with more questions than answers.
He said he wanted and needed me in his life.
He said he loved me.
No communication for weeks.
The weeks turned into months.
I told him that I am done.
Done waiting, done hoping.
My heart still hurts but
I’m not gonna do it --
I’m not gonna cry

p.s.
I would like to say that he is a really good man. He has to be or I would not have been interested in him in the first place. I am not trying to make excuses for him....but I do believe he is going through a mid life crisis of sorts. he has made many changes to his life. I just hope that someday, he will let a woman in and that he will be happy.

I have not served in the military but I did work in the defense industry for over 25 years which served our military members. Several of my close friends are Veterans. I have friends who have lost people they love.
It breaks my heart when I hear people speak disrespectfully about our military. They are people....very special people who are serving THEIR countries.....who are in danger....to keep the rest of us safe. It is not their fault that countries are at war. They made an oath when they joined ....or, in some cases, were drafted...into the service. Many have paid with their lives. Others have paid with their health and peace of mind.
When our soldiers came back from the Vietnam war, I was very young. I didn't really understand what was going on with the protests and the way the returning soldiers were being treated. (I only saw this on the news...never in person). But it felt wrong to me as a child. I am incredibly ashamed of the way they were treated. It was WRONG. They should have returned to parades and honor. It is too bad that our nation cannot have a "do over" on that.
I want those soldiers....and all soldiers to know that they have my respect. Please know that I appreciate all of you and thank you for all you have done and for the price you have paid. You are all HE-ROES and SHE-ROES. I will forever keep you in my prayers.

The County Fair is going on in our town this week and it brings back so many memories of when I was a kid. We used to beg to go every day. Of course, my parents wouldn't let us go everyday --- but we did get to go at least two of them.
What was/is your favorite ride games or event of the fair?

When on a first date, what are things that your date may do that you think are distasteful, make you uncomfortable or things you think should be off limits?
