Been a while since I've done a blog, and I write this with a heavy heart.
Some long term bloggers would have followed read a blog by Pagan. He used sign his blogs... Truly.
After a battle with Cancer he lost his fight.
Another dear friend has passed on.

How to upset a long term member.

I know for the newbies the site says ex number of members are online, but for those of us that have been here a long time know that's not always true.
I know I've signed out, gone back hours later and it's shown I've been online all that time
That's not what has upset me.
There is a notification bar.... who's been looking at your profile and a number of other things. A few times I've been notified that someone has left a message on one of my blogs. Members I've known for a long time, but have not been active for a number of . I've stopped looking at my blog.... just in case, as I know it's not true.
What upset was the notification from a very dear friend who I'd been talking off this place for a number of , saying he'd left a message on one of my blogs. My lovely friend passed away almost 5 ago.
Ok, he probably didn't want friends know he was on this site, so there was no one let them know he'd passed. Guess now I've caught them out in a lie, I'll drop them an email telling them.

Men in uniforms.

Not just any uniform, it has be a fireman. I just love firemen. Don't get me started on the calendar they put out every year.
Every year the fire truck visits the streets, usually collecting and handing out sweets the kids, but for some reason, they weren't collecting.
So yesterday was the day. There I was standing outside my place taking in the eye candy, forget the sweet type, I was enjoying the real thing.
Santa was walking ahead of the fire truck and stopped to have a chat to me. Think he was expecting to have his photo taken with me when I asked if he could take a photo of me with the fireman. Sorry Santa, but you're wearing the wrong type of uniform.
So yes..... I got my photo taken with the fireman, so I can enjoy the eye candy over and over.
Hope the site leaves this blog alone. The last one I posted made no sense, I had to go back in and edit it.

Some of you know I work in a Nursing home. The one I work at also has Assisted Living Apartments.
Today was their Christmas lunch where only one family member could be invited... at a cost .
Most had their families enjoying time with their loved ones, the first time they've been able to spend with them since the lock down, but there were the odd few who spent more time on their phones or not speaking to their so called loved ones.
You could see that they were thinking... how long before I can leave. It was heart breaking to see.
One lady was so proud to point out to me it was her son with her. He was the one using his phone most of the time. He was obviously wondering how long it would be before he could leave.
These are the residents, who most can still have a conversation.
Glad I won't be involved in the Nursing Home Christmas lunches, it'sad enough just seeing them all alone with no visitors, that is until they are about to take their last breath, then the room is full of relatives who never bothered to visit.
I understand that some live a long distance away, but there are so many that are... just too busy.
No I haven't been drinking, for bits of this not to make sense. Been a long time since I've done a post, and the site managed to stuff it up. I'll try and fix it, but if it's still a bit out of sorts.... it wasn't me.

Been AWOL for a while. Had three wonderful weeks off work where I crammed heaps of fun things.
Thought I would have plenty of time set up private thing so I could get messages, but had so much happening, I didn't get round it.
Well the East of Australia is a blaze. No let up for the firefighters even in Winter, and things are getting worse with three weeks go before Summer starts.
Read a fire report today telling all of us in the mountains to evacuate. Do they even know how many of us live in The Blue Mountains? How to cause panic.
I'm going to pack some bags tonight and be ready to go if need be. The next two days are classed as... Catastrophic.
I have lined up with a friend who lives down the mountain to stay there as I did in the terrible 20 fires where so many people lost everything, a dear friend included.
I've gone into edit this post, as they've stuffed around with it. Numbers and words went missing. Hope they leave it alone this time.

Today marks my 49th year in Australia.
In all those years I've often wondered... what would my life have been like if my family and I hadn't left England all those years ago.
My family returned to England and I decided to stay. I had been such a pain in the arse, for so long when we got here, that my Mum and Dad considered sending me back to live with my Grandmother, while they stayed here a few more years. But by that stage, I had made friends, which took a while as we moved a few times, so it was hard for a teenager coping with all the stuff that goes on in that stage of their lives, but I decided that I wanted to stay here.
It was heart breaking to first say goodbye to my Mother, Brother and Sister as they boarded the plane, and then a few months later to go through all that again once Dad sold their house and was on his way to join them.
Many years ago, I did return thinking I could live back there, but it didn't take me long to realize, I'd been away too long. My friends had moved on. Married and had a life I was no longer a part of, so again, with a broken heart, I say goodbye to my family.
I've missed out on so many things most take for granted.... my sisters wedding, the birth of my niece and her child, brothers 2nd wedding.... I was able to make it for his first, the birth of his two children and the list goes on.
I have two wonderful children who have chosen careers where they are able to help others, but I still wonder............ what if?????

After quite a long time, the site has given me free gold Membership, as long as I followed the rules.
I have followed them to a T, now I've been informed that my gold Membership is no more.... that is unless I want to pay.
So.... if any of you nice people send me an email, I won't be able to read it. I will get around to setting up a place on my blog page where you'll still be able to send me a message..... that is.... if they don't take that away too.

blogs.
While they were stuffing around changing the advice aka magazine, a whole heap of my blogs have gone.
They are saying I have 557, in fact I have well over 600.
As well, bloggers, has been away for quite some time have posted a new blog each, but when I go into my watched blogs they are not there???
Anyone else having the problem? Makes me wonder if this blog will show.

A friend called in the other day. I took her outside to show her my new plant.
I went inside to make us a coffee. She took so long outside her coffee went cold. I wonder what's taking her so long?

Feels like Christmas was just here, and now Easter is upon us.
I will be working part of the long weekend. I've been told.... think of the money. My reply to that was..... would you prefer the little extra or to spend the time with family or friends? I know which I would prefer. Plus the tax taken will not make it worth while.
I'd like to wish you all a safe and Happy Easter.
