~~~ WTF Canceled Halloween?

Now this is an “interesting” development. We have had several schools cancel all Halloween activities this year. You may ask yourself, why have they done this? Did the school think that it was too scary for the children? Will they be exposed to much too much candy? Maybe that it could be misconstrued as a religious celebration? Nope, none of the above. The schools have decided that in the interest of cultural diversity, Halloween celebrations could be offensive to some cultures. A news inquiry disclosed that of 900 families involved in these schools, 3 families (representing 4 children between 4th and 6th grade) complained that their cultures would be offended by Halloween activities. It was reported that these families were from 2 different ethnic backgrounds (the back grounds were not identified). If this is indeed a decision based on sensitivity to cultural diversity why should the alleged complaints of a total of 4 out of approximately 900 students cause an end to a fun celebration that has roots in this country for so many years? (maybe 75 years?). It is currently treated as a day of fun, children getting dressed up and getting candy. Are we going too far in catering to the desires of the few at the expense of the many when it comes to children’s fun?

Not your astrological sign, a funny sign you may have seen . Over the course of my diligent research for my posts, I have come across some cute, funny and sexy signs. What better day to share them than today!!! I wish I had the skills that some of these folks have in preparing signs. I hope these give you a chuckle. Please share any you may have. Or if you just want to vent , feel free to do so.
The monkeys that run the site have made the pictures NOT viewable to visitors, but I can see them. I have noticed the same thing on many other blogs

I mean your energy level! OMG! What were you thinking I meant? . I stopped by a local Seniors center yesterday to drop some donations off. And they sure did surprise me. Music was on lots of folks dancing and the place was filled with laughter. I am thinking about partying there in the future . What are your thoughts on aging and activity? I know I have arrived at age 61 and I don't feel older. or less naughty. Of course, there are a few new aches and pains, but I think I am just taking them in stride. Anyone want to join me at this Senior Center, to do some partying?

Enough of seriousness. I am taking today off and plan on just doing a lot of soaking in the tub, laying around and maybe misbehaving. I have no intentions of wearing clothes (ok maybe a robe sometimes ), I am just kind of rebelling. Hopefully after all the soaking in the tub, I will not be looking like some sort of prune, all wrinkly  . Do you ever have a day like that? Maybe best described as being a bit hedonistic? Do you ever just spoil yourself? If so how?

Some more naughtiness? While in a relationship, my experience is that we can "let our guards" down. Maybe doing things that we would not normally. It is all in the name of fun, sexual playing and teasing. A little flash here and a little taunt there. My opinion is that it is a way to keep things fresh in the relationship. I can be a playful partner in a relationship. Do you do this? Just be silly with your partner? Or do you think that the playful idea is silly and has no place in your relationship?

A passing touch, a firm pat, gentle massage. These are all things I enjoy doing and being done to me. I am very tactile, and I think most of us are to one degree or another. How better to convey affection or caring. It can be as nice or naughty as you like . What are your feelings? Are you a "touchy feely" person?

Ever have a hard start to your day ? I think for many , there is not much difference what calendar day. We just sometimes have a slow start . It is that time to get it kicked into gear and get it started. I don't usually have trouble with it, but I suspect there are many that do. Are you one that is moving slowly this morning? What or who is part of your start up routine? Is there a way you would like to "improve " your morning routine?

A friend sent me these "Laws" . They gave me a laugh, so I thought I would share them. Sometimes, I think life is too serious. Wouldn't be nice to have a place you can go to, close out the Adult world and just relax and have fun? Not as an escape, just a "recharge" time. Do you have a way to just relax and recharge? *** From a Simpler time

I grew up in what I think was a much simpler time. There were good guys and bad guys in the movies. For a little boy, it seemed easier to know what was right and what was wrong. Of course, in my case, at that age I did not know that life was really not that simple. I have been spending time over the last few years watching TV programs with my Godsons and I am realizing, that there is no clear cut hero in their programs. Most of the shows seem to always have a dark side. I have searched around and have not found a clear cut hero. I am introducing more and more John Wayne into their viewing time. I work in discussions on how some of the ideas in the movies can not really happen, but they should always try to do what is right and to help others. Am I being too naïve in this time trying to do this? Do you have a TV or movie idol? Yes I can be a curmudgeon,,,,,,,, all little boys should be introduced to John Wayne.!!

I did this post some time back, but I think it is worth “refreshing it”
I heard this term on a Radio Talk Show yesterday ..Quarter Life Crisis, they seem to have indicated that it can start in a persons 20’s ( often referred to as Generation Y, also known as the millennials). I did not have a lot of time to listen to the whole show, but the subject seemed interesting. I did a check in a fairly reliable site and got this extract (not a complete description,I am sure)…
“Common symptoms of a quarter life crisis are often feelings of being "lost, scared, lonely or confused" about what steps to take in order to transition properly into adulthood. Studies have shown that unemployment and choosing a career path is a major cause for young persons to undergo stress or anxiety. Early stages of one living on their own for the first time and learning to cope without parental help can also induce feelings of isolation and loneliness.”
I think we are all fairly familiar with a “mid life crisis”, so this is not about that.
My questions : Did you experience this crisis? How would you describe its effect on you? If you did, how long did it last? If you have children that fit this age, did they experience this?
If you are in this general age group now, do you think you are experiencing it?
I don’t recall having felt or experienced this crisis. I was in the military, making some heavy duty decisions daily. I was married, balancing my career and family. My children, son 37 and daughter 32 did not seem to hit this crisis. After school, they hit the deck running and are relatively successful in their chosen career.
This is one of my few posts that has a relatively serious theme. I am interested in hearing some real life experiences. I will return to regularly scheduled naughty and flirty tomorrow.

It is a cool crisp morning here. I think it would be a good time to serve up brunch for some special folks... That is you, you know. Actually I enjoy the chat back and forth while cooking. Sometimes I do get distracted though. What is a cool weather favorite for your brunch? I generally stick with the basics for a hearty meal. Breakfast is my main meal of the day, so it is generally a hearty one. Please share any ideas

Do you have something or someone that cheers you up? I did watch their movie Despicable Two with the Godsons last week and I laughed my butt off.

I received this from a military friend and it seems to ring so true. What do you think? Is sex work, or pleasure?
A U.S. Marine Colonel was about to start the morning briefing to his staff.
While waiting for the coffee machine to finish brewing, the colonel decided to pose a question to all assembled.
He explained that his wife had been a bit frisky the night before and he failed to get his usual amount of sound sleep.
He posed the question of just how much of sex was "work" and how much of it was "pleasure?"
A Major chimed in with 75%-25% in favor of work.
A Captain said it was 50%-50%.
A Lieutenant responded with 25%-75% in favor of pleasure, depending upon his state of inebriation at the time.
There being no consensus, the colonel turned to the Private First Class who was in charge of making the coffee and asked for his opinion?
Without any hesitation, the young Private First Class responded, "Sir, it has to be 100% pleasure.
The colonel was surprised and as you might guess, asked why? "Well, sir, if there was any work involved, the officers would have me doing it for them."
The room fell silent. God Bless the enlisted man.
