I have posted about this before, but it came to mind again. Is there a health benefit, or is it ego? I saw a young lady at the gym yesterday that brought this subject to mind. I think she is a body builder . I do admire the obvious commitment she has brought to her quest and I certainly am not trying to disparage what she is doing. I am just wondering about the practicalities of working to "bulk" ones body / muscle mass to what many may think as excessive. I know for a fact that I had several male "body builders" in my military units over the years. And to put it bluntly, they were useless when it came to mobility and flexibility needed in field conditions. Is that the same for all body builders? I can not say, that was just an observation. I want to emphasis, I am not trying to be negative towards their choices, it is something that I could never accomplish myself . My question (s) to you,, Is this body "shape" attractive to you (be it male or female)? Have you tried to "be that way"? Do you admire their commitment to this life style? Add anything that you like to this conversation

You know, it seems there has been a lot of stuff happening lately. Sometimes things get confusing, make us angry ,or are just baffling. Do you have someone you can just "bounce" your ideas or thoughts off? Someone to talk things out with ,to help you understand them? Lets use this post to just vent your concerns about anything, if you want to solicit advice, or just share something, serious, silly or sexy. When I turned on the TV for the news, the channel was on a Cartoon Channel. I am not normally a cartoons guy, but I did get a chuckle from some of the Super Hero characters. So here are my questions... Do you watch cartoons? Do you have a favorite Super Hero character? And let us suspend reality for a little while, what Cartoon Super Hero would you like to be, or meet?

Charge up is complete!! The weekend is about over. I had one heck of a time getting up and moving this morning, and I will not even be working tomorrow . How will you start your Sunday? Do you have a Sunday routine? Do you like Sundays? I am getting caught up on News, having coffee and later breakfast. And of course another NASCAR race this afternoon . It is damp and cold, so maybe a throw back to one of my posts early , A weekend of cuddles

I was pleasantly surprised yesterday when my 10 year old Godson came home from school. He wanted me to sit and listen to something on the internet that they had been introduced (the explanation) to in school by one of his teachers . I thought it was cute as he sat me down and brought this up on his iPad and made sure that I listened closely to it. I listened and was very pleased by this explanation of The Pledge of Allegiance, that made its meaning much clearer to him and his classmates. He then had me and his brother join him in reciting the Pledge. When his parents got home from school, he said he would do the same with them. This may not be significant to folks from other countries, but I would think you have a similar pledge / saying for your country. I am so happy that the school has stepped up and shared this with the kids. Is there something similar in your country? Here is a transcript of…………….
The Pledge of Allegiance

“When I was a small boy in Vincennes, Indiana, I heard, I think, one of the most outstanding speeches I ever heard in my life. I think it compares with the Sermon on the Mount, Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address, and Socrates’ Speech to the Students.
We had just finished reciting the Pledge of Allegiance, and he called us all together, and he says, “Uh, boys and girls, I have been listening to you recite the Pledge of Allegiance all semester, and it seems that it has become monotonous to you. Or, could it be, you do not understand the meaning of each word? If I may, I would like to recite the pledge, and give you a definition for each word”:
Me ………… an individual; a committee of one.
Pledge ….. Dedicate all of my worldly goods to give without self-pity.
Allegiance …. My love and my devotion.
To the Flag … Our standard. “Old Glory”; a symbol of courage. And wherever she waves, there is respect, because your loyalty has given her a dignity that shouts “Freedom is everybody's job”.
of the United …. That means that we have all come together.
States ……. Individual communities that have united into forty-eight great states. Forty-eight individual communities with pride and dignity and purpose. All divided by imaginary boundaries, yet united to a common cause, and that’s love of country, of America.
And to the Republic …. A Republic: a sovereign state in which power is invested into the representatives chosen by the people to govern. And the government is the people; and it's from the people to the leaders, not from the leaders to the people.
For which it stands One Nation ... Meaning so blessed by God.
Indivisible …. Incapable of being divided.
With Liberty …. Which is Freedom.The right of power for one to live his own life without fears, threats, or any sort of retaliation.
And Justice … The principle and qualities of dealing fairly with others.
For All … For All. That means, boys and girls, it's as much your country as it is mine.”
Now let me hear you recite the Pledge of Allegiance:

to the Flag of the United States of America,
and to the Republic, for which it stands;
one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
He ended with ,,,,, “Since I was a small boy, two states have been added to our country, and two words have been added to the Pledge of Allegiance: Under God. Wouldn't it be a pity if someone said that it is a prayer, and that it be eliminated from our schools, too?”
No matter your country of origin, instilling and maintaining the pride of your country with your children is so important

Well, Hurricane Joaquin is going to pay us some sort of visit here in New Jersey. Probably most of the East coast will get at least some rain and wind. Our temperatures here are in the 50'sF, very windy and rainy. So what is this "whoas me" story about? Well cuddle and snuggle time of course! . This is a good weekend to just stay in and relax for the weekend. Why fight the weather, it will always win. Have you ever had a cuddle and snuggle weekend? I think if I was in charge, I would mandate one such weekend two to three times a year, would you vote for that? How is your weather forecast for the weekend?

Well, not really a holiday, but it is National Coffee Day!! I know, it is one of those made up things. How ever, it is one of the most popular beverages and well worth the attention this one day a year. I am a bit of a coffee snob, so I will celebrate it with one extra cup of coffee. Is coffee a part of your daily routine? Is there a particular "style", type or method of service that you prefer? Do you have any special plans on this day of celebration of that nectar coffee?

I got this in an email yesterday and I thought it was just to good, not to share. I wonder if our occupations do actually impact our playtime activity
A guy and a girl meet at a bar.
They get along so well that they decide to go to the girl's place.
A few drinks later, the guy takes off his shirt and then washes his hands.
He then takes off his trousers and again washes his hands. The girl has been watching him and says,
"You must be a dentist."
The guy, surprised, says, "Yes .... How did you figure that out?" "Easy," she replies. "You keep washing your hands." One thing leads to another and they make love. After it's over the girl says, "You must be a really good dentist."
The guy, now with an inflated ego, says, "Sure - I'm a good dentist. How did you figure that out?"
The girl replies....
"I Didn't feel a thing."

Around here, it seems like every day is cleaning day . Always something to clean or dust. Something tells me, I will get no sympathy . With just me , and a cleaner doing the heavy cleaning, I guess it is not so bad. Do you get help with your house cleaning chores? Are you on your own to do them? I know it is a mundane subject, but I really would like to hear about your methodology. There must be some way to make it fun

I was thinking, how fortunate we are to be able to participate here in blogland. Amongst other things we are regaled with life advice. We have people of all ages and experiences. They are from different cultures and ethnicities. Some like me  do have a bit cock eyed views, but overall we can benefit from the observations, comments and advice we are exposed to.
